Chapter One
"Rachel! Come on! I swear girl you'll be late to your own funeral!"
I sighed as my mother yelled up the stairs. She always knew how to get on my last nerve. I slid into the expensive blue dress my mom bought me just for this moment. It was my sister's wedding day. I struggled getting the top part of it zippered.
"Mom, can you please help me?"
"Sure honey. Hold on."
I heard light footsteps coming up the stairs. I had my mothers bottom half of her body, but not exactly the top. My mom is as skinny as a rail. I am too, but I am "blessed with boobs" as my aunt would say.
"Okay, now hold your stomach in and lets get this...zippered..."
Finally the zipper went smoothly up my back. I exhaled and stepped in front of my mirror to look at the dress. It was long and elegant, going down to the floor. The neckline dropped only to show just a bit of cleavage, and it had these adorable quarter length sleeves. The sleeves were sky blue and the dress itself was a deep shimmery midnight blue.
"You look gorgeous honey."
My mom came behind me wearing a purple dress exactly like the one I was wearing. Her short brown hair was pulled up into an elegant up do, and her hazel eyes were accentuated with coca brown eyeshadow and navy blue eyeliner.
"You too mom. I'll be down in a second. Just let me fix my hair."
"Okay. Don't take too long though."
I nodded to her. I pulled my long jet black hair into a french twist. I curled the little excess hairs floating around and put a purple diamond butterfly clip in my hair. I examined my blue eyes and applied nude eyeshadow and brown liner. I pushed my small feet into pastel pink pumps and stared at myself in the mirror for a second. Then I hurried down the stairs and out to the limousine waiting for our family. My dad and brother looked alike with their black tuxedos.
"You look stunning, Rachel!"
I beamed over at my dad.
"Thanks dad! You two look great!"
"Thanks!" they said in unison.
It was quiet the rest of the way. I was thinking about something other than parties and weddings. I was thinking about starting private school. Tomorrow.
My sisters wedding was wonderful. She looked like a magical princess that popped out of a storybook. Her long gorgeous hair was curled into tight ringlets, and her face was radiating happiness. And I must say, her husband is pretty hot.
The after party was boring, except for the part when my aunt kissed my brother Mark for 5 minutes. Of course she was drunk. I was sitting at our table, thinking about tomorrow.
"Maybe it won't be so bad," I thought.
"Yeah right." my brain replied.
I wasn't exactly as frilly as my rich ass mother is. I like blacks and greys and dark purples. I prefer Metallica over One Direction. I like hoodies better than fluffy dresses. I just am not a princess person. My mom thinks I "am too depressing all the time." Well everything is going to have to change tomorrow...
Hello! This is the first chapter. It will get better once the plot unfolds, I promise. I will update this two or three times a day, (yes I have a LOT of time on my hands) and I definitely will appreciate any feedback you guys have for me. Thanks! :)
