Chapter 5- "Confusion"
(Unedited just a fair warning)
Have you ever felt like you've been floating on cloud 9, and then like you're falling from that's state of bliss in 0.5 seconds all at the same time? That's exactly how I feel right now.
I went from kissing the guy of my dreams, to thinking about his girlfriend. I'm an idiot aren't I?
15 Minutes Earlier
"Can I ask you a question?" I rest my hands on his bare chest, I really can't look at him because if I do, I'll break down completely.
"Anything." He moves from on top of me and lays on the side of me. He reads his hand in mine and looks at the ceiling. "So what's going on in that pretty head of yours?"
I blush at his compliment and turn to look into his enchanting eyes. No Alec! Stay focused! This is serious, now what did I need to ask him? I know it had something to do with his eyes... Wait! No!
He turns to look at me and smiles. "Alexander," he purred, "what's going up?" He smiled slightly. His smile is amazing. I can tell that he's happy from that twinkle he gets, you wouldn't be able to tell if you were just looking at him, but after stalking a guy 2 years you pretty much know everything about them.
"Um... do you have any siblings?" I blurted. What the hell is wrong with me! Really Alec, you asked if he had any-
"Two actually. I have a twin brother, Miles, and a little sister, Mildred. You've probably seen Miles around school. Looks just like me, except his hair is brown and his eyes are green. I look more like mom, I have her hair and eyes." He explains.
"Miles... he's straight?" I ask.
He chuckles, "yeah, he has a girlfriend. Me on the other hand... well... I'm confused. I guess that's the best way to put it." He shifts so that he's no longer facing me and stares at the ceiling like it's the most interesting thing in the world.
"Well I'm not. Hi, I'm Alec Lightwood, I'm gay, and I really like you. I want to take you on a date. You don't get to say no." I say triumphantly. I sit up and look for my shirt. Where is the damn thing!
"I-I should go." He scrambled to his feet, and threw his jeans on. He grabbed the rest of his belongings and was out of my room in less than 3 minutes.
"Wow. Way to be subtle, Alec." I grumbled under my breath. I threw myself on my bed and stared at the ceiling, mentally cursing myself for scaring away what could have been the best thing to ever happen to me.
"Aren't you gonna run after him?"
"Damnit mom! You scared me! ...Should I? Obviously he isn't comfortable with who he is. I don't want to push him or anything..." I trailed off, I know she's right but I can't. He probably hates me.
"Your father and I have taught you better than that, Alec. If you like Magnus, go after him. If you think he's the one, fight for him. But Lightwoods don't give up." Maryse told him.
"Don't be stupid Alec! Listen to your mother and go chase after that boy!" My father yelled. Since when were they so passionate about my relationships?
"Magnus! Magnus! Slow down!" I yelled after him. For leaving my room so fast you'd think he'd be farther than just leaving my driveway.
He stopped once he heard me coming after him, but didn't turn around.
"I'm sorry for coming on too strong... I just- I thought you liked me. I mean we made out on my bed, we almost... it could have led to... Magnus I'm just sorry. You're the first person I've opened up to in a while and I guess... I guess I went over the line." I kept my gaze on the ground, I couldn't dare look him in the eyes because if I did, I am certain I would see the hate in them.
