Rosabeth's POV

When I wake up Hershel is stitching up Daryl's side while Daryl is telling Rick where we found the doll.

"Cuts the grid almost in half." Rick says to Shane.

"Yeah your welcome." Daryl says.

"How's he looking doc?" I ask siting up. Hershel says he didn't think they'd go through antibiotics that quickly.

"Any idea what happened to my horse?" He asks walking over to me and I realize I'm in a pair of my shorts.

"Threw us off and ran off. We fell down into a river and got hurt. Who changed me?" I say/ask.

"Maggie did. We call that horse Nelly, as in nervous nelly. I could've told you she'd throw you if you'd bothered to ask. It's a wonder you people survived this long." He says to me/Rick, stitching my thigh up. Hershel says I can get up but I have to be careful. After a few minutes I get up and go to find Maggie. I see her in the kitchen and go talk to her.

"Hey, Maggie?" I ask. "Oh hey Rosabeth, you doing alright?" She asks.

"Yeah, and hey, I wanted to thank you for helping your dad with me. I wouldn't want anyone seeing me like that, but I'm glad it was you." I say hoping it doesn't sound creepy. She says that it's ok and welcome. Thank god she didn't think I'm creepy.

A little while later its dinner time. Oh yeah, we were planing on doing that today. We all get some food and a drink. Most of us(excluding Daryl) are sitting at the long table and the rest are sitting at a small round table. "Does anyone know how to play guitar?" Glenn asks. "Dale found a cool one. Somebody's got to know how to play." Glenn continues. "Otis did." Patricia says. "Yes, and he was very good too." Hershel says.

"I know a few songs," I say, "but I stoped once I lost my child. Used to always play for him." I say smiling sadly. Carol leaves to give Daryl his food and a drink. After dinner we clean up. We as in Maggie, Beth, and I. Maggie goes to put the plates away and she suddenly runs out. Well then. After we finish we all go to bed.

I wake up and get dressed in a green tank top, some denim shorts, and my combat boots. I strap my knife to my hip and I walk over to where and Carl is.

"Hey Carl, you alright to be walking around?" I ask. "Yeah I'm fine, how are you? I hear you got hurt pretty bad yesterday." Carl asks/says.

"Yeah I'm fine. Perfectly fine. Just got a little stab wound." I explain grabbing a bucket full of bird seeds and I throw some out.

"Don't look so worried." Carl says to me. "It's a job I've taken on." I say to him. "No, it's not. You're a housewife type person." He says. "Oh yeah, punk?" I laugh throwing bird seed at him. "You see my house around here?" I say.
"They don't have a mother," Carl says talking about the baby chicks. "She might be somewhere else." I say. Messing with a feather. "Maybe she got eaten." He comments. I just stare at him for a few minutes.

"Everything is good for something else." He says. I go back to messing with the feather. After a minute or two I see the horse Daryl and I took out yesterday. Damn. After I'm done I walk over to where Rick, Shane, and a kid is huddled around a map on a truck. I hear them talking about gun practice.

"I'll hold down the fort here, but take backup. After what went down with Rose and Daryl, I don't want anyone going out alone or without more than one weapon." Rick says/explains. Shane says he'll take suggestions on a partner. Glenn walks over with a fruit basket. I grab one and bite into it. "See how they do on the range then take your pick." Rick says to Shane.

After a few minutes, Beth and Patricia come over saying they want to join the gun training, that Otis was the only one who knew guns, and that Hershel didn't like it but consented. "No offense but I'll ask Hershel myself." Rick says to them. Shane walks away to Carl and talks to him.

~Time skip~

Carl is in trouble because he had a gun. Lori asks how the hell that happened. "Well it's my fault. I let him into the R.V. He said he wanted a walkie, that you sent him for one." Dale says
"So in top of everything else, he lied?" I ask.

"What's he thinking?" Lori asks quietly.

"He wants to learn how to shoot. He asked me to teach him. Now it's none of my business, but I'm happy to do it. It's your call." Shane says. Lori says she isn't comfortable with it and looks around.

"Oh don't make me out to be the unreasonable one here. Rick?" Lori asks looking at him. "I know. I have my concerns too, but--" Rick says before Lori cuts him off "There's no but. He was just shot. He's just back on his feet and he wants a gun?" Lori asks like they're crazy for thinking that.

"Better than him being afraid of 'em," I say and Lori looks at me rudely before looking back at Rick.

"There are guns in camp for a reason. He should learn to handle them safely." Rick says backing me up a little. Lori says she doesn't want her kid walking around with a gun. "But how can you even defend that? You can't let him go around without protection." Rick says gesturing to camp.

"He's as safe as hell ever be right here. Look everything you're saying makes perfect sense. It feels wrong. I mean I didn't feel good about him him following you out into the woods. And I wish I'd said something. I should've gone with my gut." She explains.

"He's growing up, thank god. We've gotta start treating him like an adult." Rick says back. Lori says that Carl should act more like one and that he's not mature enough to have a gun.

"I'm not going to play with it, mom. It's not a toy. I'm sorry I disappointed you, but I want to look for Sophia and I want to defend our camp. I can't do that without a gun." Carl says walking up to us. Rick says to Lori that Shane is the best instructor he knows  and that he's seen Shane teach kids younger than Carl. Lori must've given up because she sighs and walks over to Carl making him look up. "You will take this seriously and you will behave responsibly. And if I hear from anyone in this camp that you're not living up to our expectations--" "He won't let you down Lori." I cut her off. Carl says yeah nodding and looks up to Lori.
