I guess Danielle forgot about the guacamole. Donald went back in. I stayed out and watched Misla practice karate. She bowed, kicked and punched the air a few times, then bowed again.
In the distance I heard a guitar instrumental of Bino's song. It might be in the studio or just Ludwig playin around. Anyway it sounded good.
"You heard me?" Misla asked.
"What?" I asked.
"Did you hear me?"
"No."
She smacked her lips and repeated herself as she cotinued punching the air. "I said Swank and I were arguing."
"About?" I lied as if I hadn't already heard.
"Girls."
"Girls?" I asked.
"Well, *punch* more specifically *kick* their V.J.s"
"Oh."
Misla finished her routine and bowed again. She sat down next to me sweating and breathing heavily. She picked up a water bottle and drunk from it. I layed in the grass and stared at the sky. Its so hot.
We were silent for a long time so I decided to go back inside. When I walked in Stefan was playing the piano. I stopped him.
"Did you clean that shit up?"
"Yeah."
I walked away. He continued playing. I went to the kitchen and to my suprise it was clean. Donald probably forced him to. My phone buzzed in my pocket. I had a text. It was chance.
'Come upstairs'
I grabbed a bag of hot cheetohs and replied.
'😤 I just came from up there'
A few minutes passed and he texted back.
'COME ON! its important.'
I sighed. This house is too big to be walking up and downstairs all day. I walked to the room where I heard Trinidad's voice. Sure enough Chance was there.
"This is Connect Four Chance. Not chess." Trinidad said smiling.
Chance looked concentrated as if winning the game was his life line.
"This decision is pivotal." I teased.
Chance placed a piece and so did Trinidad. Back and forth as I ate my chips and watched.
"Thanks." Trinidad said.
"God damit! Did I hust tweak? I just did it." Chance asked. He knew he'd fucked up.
Trinidad placed the winning piece.
"God Damnit!" Chance screamed and walked out.
"So what was so important?" I yelled back before he left.
I replaced Chance's seat. Trinidad laughed.
"So you want to play me?" he asked.
I said nothing, picked up a yellow piece and dropped the first play right down the middle.
