"Samantha." The cold voice cut through the static coming from the other end of the line.
Samantha Anderson froze as she held the cordless phone to her ear. "W-who are you?" She struggled to keep her voice from shaking as she listened to the sounds coming across the line.
"I have a challenge for you, seeing as you are a woman of great risks." The voice continued, it's tone rattling Sam's proverbial cage even more.
"What is it?" Sam's voice cracked slightly and she hoped it couldn't be heard on the other end.
"Tomorrow. We race. Everyone you care about, my bike. You win, they are spared and you get my bike. I win, I waste you all." A slight sneer was heard on the other end.
"No. I won't." Hesitation broke through Sam's voice.
"You have no choice!" The voice roared in anger at Sam's decision.
Sam shook with fear as she ended the call and set the phone down. Her mind raced as she thought of all the ways the race could go wrong.
