The six of us sat in Cammie and Wendall's room rummaging through the papers in Clare's files. There wasn't much information on her so this case wasn't going to be easy. No matter what we searched on Cammie's computer the same old information would come up. I should have known Dean Nancy wasn't going to give us a 'walk in the park' easy case.

I sat on Cammie's bed holding the original folder Nancy gave to us earlier but there was no point in trying to find anything new in it. I looked around to see what my other partners were up to.

Marshall and Scarlett sat on Wendall's bed writing down what he was finding on Cammie's computer. Cammie sat next to him with her arms crossed, a pout on her face. It was obvious she was annoyed that she wasn't the one getting to use her own computer this time.

Although there was room on the bed I was sitting on Monday chose to stand off in the corner of the room. She didn't seem to be listening to Wendall but was instead taking in everything about the room. She clutched a worn down notebook in her hand but didn't open it to write. I found this strange seeing she had a mechanical pencil resting on her ear. Maybe she didn't see a point in writing anything down since Scarlett and Marshall were already taking notes.

She finished scanning the room and we made eye contact. She quickly looked away and pretended she was interesting in Wendall's pendulum sitting on the computer's desk. I decided now may be a good time to get to know the newbie a little bit better. While the others found out more about Clare I'd find more about Monday Smith.

I stood up from the bed and began walking towards the corner she stood in. She glanced at me but then directed her attention back to the desk. "How about I show you around the academy a bit Monday?"

She gave her full attention to me now. "Actually that would be great. I'm probably gonna get lost around here without a bit of guidance."

I shouted over to Cammie, "We'll be back soon, keep the room unlocked." ,and she just waved us away without a glance.

The other three seemed busy so I quietly opened the door to the hall and Monday and I slipped out of the room.

I turned to Monday as she was placing her notebook and pencil into the satchel wrapped across her torso. "Any requests for where you may want to go first?"

She seemed to ponder the question for a second before shrugging. "Whatever's closest."

I began walking out of the dorm area and she followed behind me. A few silent minutes later we ended up in front of the doors of our library. It wasn't the closest place but I knew it would be quiet. A good place to get to know her better.

Although it was past hours the doors were still unlocked like usual. The librarian Ms. Dorris never seemed to lock up at night. I wasn't even sure if she had a key to do so.

Monday must have noticed it was past hours because she opened her mouth to say something. Before a word could escape I easily opened the wooden doors and her mouth immediately closed as she followed me inside.

Our library wasn't the largest but it's book selection was. It has every book you could ever want, from the history of A.A.Y.G. to a simple informational book on different species of frogs and toads. Although many people would stop in the library throughout the day most books stayed untouched and were now filling up with dust. The only kids who would take out books would be our researchers. Even then, they mainly used computers nowadays.
