I woke up staring at the ceiling and smiled, I was at Hogwarts. I jumped out of bed and quickly pulled on my Hufflepuff robes before grabbing my bag which was full of my books, my notebook and my wand.
I went down the the common room the find non other but my dear twin brother waiting for me. "Ready Becca??" Dylan asked smiling,
"I sure am!!" I said as we exited the common room and made our way to breakfast.
I sat down at the table and piled some toast on my plate, as I did however I felt eyes on me so looked up to see Draco Malfoy staring at me. When he noticed I saw him he quickly turned away leaving my confused and baffled.
Why would Draco Malfoy, my enemy and the person who hates me... Be staring at me??
I checked my top and robes to see if I had accidentally spilt some pumpkin juice down myself but I was shocked to see I hadn't (for the first time ever) when I looked up to see Malfoy, he was getting up. Probably heading of to class or something
Like I cared.
~~ 1/2 an hour later ~~
I was late
It was the first lesson on the first day and I was late for potions with Professor Snape, what a class to be late to.
When I reached my classroom I burst through the door and everyone stared at me, including Malfoy and Snape.
"Sorry I'm late sir" I mumbled as I stood there like an idiot. Snape raised an eyebrow and nodded towards the empty seat next to Harry Potter. I quickly walked over and slid into my seat giving a weak smile to Harry.
To be honest, I was lucky.
If it was anyone else who had walked in that classroom it would of been complete humiliation and detention on the spot. However I was the smart one at potions, top of the class and because of that... Snape liked me.
So, I was lucky.
"Why were you late?" Harry whispered as I slowly got the up my books,
"First year was lost and I felt like I should help, so I did"
"No wonder your a Hufflepuff" Harry said with a smirk as he turned his attention on Snape.
Harry was right, Hufflepuff's were know for being kind and caring. Gryffindor's were known for being brave and courageous, Ravenclaw's for being smart and clever and Slytherin's for being cruel and sneaky.
I guess I was a true Hufflepuff!!
After watching everyone blow up their potions for the millionth time and stopping Harry from doing the same to ours, the class ended and we had won the potions challenge.
Snape gave 10 points to Hufflepuff and 5 to Gryffindor (cause everyone knows he has a grudge for Gryffindors) we left class to go to our free period.
I headed to the library to study as I needed to catch up on Herbology so I could at least pass with an 'Exceeding Expectations'. I entered the library and was thrilled to see that it was empty. So I placed my self on the furtherest away from the door table and opened my Herbology book to start studying.
I knew that after the free period it was lunch so it didn't really matter if I over studied. After around 10 minutes of being sat there I heard footsteps coming closer and closer to me, I didn't look up as I wanted to appear busy to whoever was coming. I heard someone cough after 5 seconds of peace and looked up to see Mr Draco Malfoy glaring at me with his silver eyes.
"Can I help?" I stated rather coldly as I wasn't in the mood for his taunts or rude humour. Draco shifted around uncomfortably and mumbled someone under his breath while I gave him my iciest glare to show him that I wasn't going to mess around.
"Erm, P-Professor Dumbledore has noticed that my grade in potions is dropping and... Well he sent me t-to..."
"To what?!" I snapped get rather inpatient,
"To tell me to tell you that you have to tutor me until exams!" Draco shouted causing me to lean back with shock in my eyes,
"No" I said shortly after, "I'm not tutoring you, go find another smart ass or mudblood to intimidate".
Draco looked at me as if he was trying to figure me out, as if I was new to him.
"You don't have a choice" he mumbled as I looked back up at him, "Dumbledore and Snape think it's the best" I groaned, I knew I couldn't argue with Dumbledore. I looked back at Draco who seemed to be patiently waiting for my reaction. So to show I had given in I nodded to the chair opposite me to motion that he could sit there.
Draco sat without a word, got out his potion books then slowly turned his melting silvery grey eyes to me. I looked at him, sighed and took out my potion notes for Draco to copy.
We sat there for around 2 hours in silence, sometimes I would get the off nod or glance but apart from that it was all copying and writing for him and Herbology catch up for me. When the clock struck 2 o'clock, Draco stood up to leave. He must of only took 3 or 4 seps before he stopped and said "same time and place tomorrow?" I quickly nodded and he nodded back as we just looked deep into each other's eyes before Draco finally muttered, "Thank you Rebecca"
I smiled, "Your welcome Draco and you can call me Becca" Draco gave a slightly Tht smile before speed walking out of the library and before I knew it... I was alone again.
This gave me some time to think over what had just happened, Draco was nice to me.
Draco Lucius Malfoy was nice to me. A mudblood. A traitor. A... Measly little Hufflepuff.
What the hell!
I laughed a little to my self as I recalled the whole thing again. When suddenly I heard a voice, a small voice but a recognisable one...
"Well that's a plot twist..."
