Yes, I realize it took much longer to update than I originally intended, but I really wanted to finish the school year and get all of my studies, tests, and finals out of the way so I could just use the summer to focus on my writing. Also I'm trying to add more background and depth to the characters so they don't sound as generic as they do right now.
Also sorry if Anna rambles a bit towards the end, it's just what she does (That and I couldn't think of anything really important to add >.< sorry) But anyways, here's chapter five. Hope you guys like it.
"Present."
Zach walks into class the second Mrs. Sing calls his name. I wouldn't be surprised if he was waiting outside with his ear pressed to the door just so he could make a dramatic entrance, the self absorbed bastard.
"Perfect timing." Mrs. Sing smiled at him. "Nice to see you again Zachary"
"Always a pleasure Rose" He says as he leans down to take kiss her hand. Who calls their teacher by their first name?
"Alright, can you take your seat now so I may continue with the roll?"
"Sure thing" he responds while walking towards the back of the room, directly towards where Aaron's sat beside me. He pulls up a chair and squeezes into the space between our two desks. "What's up Annie?"
I've decided to keep up the silent treatment, since it worked well enough before. Although Aaron seems to be on a different page. "Is there any reason you've decided to grace us with your presence today, oh arrogant one?" He smirks.
Zach swings his arm around my neck, roughly pulling me towards him. "Just saying hi to my bestest bud Annie" He says to him. "Is that so wrong?"
"Oh course not" He says with the fakest smile he can muster. "But by the look of her struggling, I don't exactly believe buddies is the right word." While they're having their little chit-chat, I'm trying my hardest to pry his arm from around me. Maya's obvously of no help, considering she's been holding back actual giggles the entire time.
If it wasn't obvious yet, Aaron and Zach aren't really the best of pals. To put it simply, Aaron thinks Zach's a douche bag and Zach thinks Aaron's a smart ass. Although both of which are completely true, this factor has made the two of them sworn enemies since they met. Well that and the fact that Zach tripped up Aaron in the lunch room freshman year, resulting in him spilling his soup across the floor which he then fell in. I never told Aaron about what happened the day I confessed to Conner, mostly because he would be out for Zach's blood if he knew. He's always been pretty protective of Maya and I.
"Zach I think we'd both very much appreciate if you found your own seat and left. Now." I interjected, already quite annoyed with him."If that's not too much to ask."
His smirk faltered a bit before he stood, as if he didn't realize he was being a serious pain. "Not at all" He chimes, quickly regaining his over confidence. As he's walking away, Aaron sticks his finger in his throat, gagging just loud enough for Zach to hear him. He doesn't turn around but it's quite obvious he noticed from his fist balling up just before shoving them in his jean pockets.
"Asshole." Aaron mutters under his breath.

The day continues to drone on, teachers introducing themselves and forcing students to stand in the front and introduce themselves, the usual first day crap. When lunch finally rolls around, Aaron, Maya and I sit at the table in the far back of the cafeteria in the corner, my decision obviously. Maya and I share the lunch her mom packed her while Aaron gets in line.
