Before we can make eye contact I burst out the door running as fast as I can into the woods. I feel my wolf howl in me telling me to go back. But I don't listen to her like she didn't listen to me all these years. I need to get out of here. I can't face my mate. I know he's only going to reject me. I feel my eyes burning as I run. I trip on a exposed tree root. I tumble to the ground not caring that I scraped my knee. I begin to ball my eyes out.
I hear running behind me, I get up about to run again but someone grabs my wrist and twirls me around to face them. I gasp seeing my mate standing there looking down on me with hurt expression. His touch sends a wave of electricity through me. I instantly feel safe in his grasp.
I get the chance to study his features. He has a sharp jaw line with a bit of stubble, tan skin with bright green eyes. His black hair is perfect, making me want to run my hands through his hair.
"Why?" His husky dreamy voice interrupt my thoughts. I swear I feel myself drooling over his voice.
When I don't answer he continues.
"Why'd you run from me?" His voice full of sorrow and I clearly hear the hurt in his voice. My heart twists at the sound.
'Don't let him get to your head clove. His playing with you'
"B-because....." My voice trials off and he tilts his head staring intently at me.
"Because what?" His voice is quiet and curious.
"I-I-I k-know you are going to reject m-me." I say not wanting him here to reject me. His eyes widen and he growls making me flinch. He stuffs his face into the crook of my neck. I feel myself blush as he begins to breathe in my scent. Sparks seem to surface to the touch.
"Why would I reject my beautiful, and perfect mate?" He asks, his words shock me. The only thing I can manage myself to do is push him off me. His expression is sadder then before. My heart clenches to see him sad. But he doesn't deserve me as a mate. He can do so much better.
"You don't want to be my mate okay? So leave now!" I shout feeling tears roll down my face.
"I am not leaving you. You're my mate and nothing is going to change that!" He shouts back anger slipping through his mouth.
If he's going to be like this. I hate to do this, but he gave me no other option.
"I, Clover Johnson reject you as my mate." My voice is calm and collected. His face falls and my wolf whimpers at the words that came out of my mouth.
He stands there a sad expression on his face, he lowers his head and falls to the ground. I feel my heart breaking at the sight but I push through it. I ignore him and walk past him tears willingly falling down my face.
I hear loud sobs coming from him as a I walk away from him. I sigh and push myself from not going back and begging for forgiveness and hug him saying sorry.
I never knew rejecting your mate would be so hard. I walk back to the school and see students talking and walking around. Some look up at me and whisper into each other's ears. Others ignore me completely. But I don't care.
I walk into the building and suddenly Leah is I front of me with a confused face.
'Dude can she teleport?! Where did she come from?!'
