Curled up in front of the television while old Christmas movies played in the background was none other than (Y/N) (L/N). Now a 19 year old in their first year of college, majoring in (subject of your choice). Currently she was on winter break, having finished her exams.
You had managed to find a small, cozy apartment near your college campus, and it was only 30 minutes from your parents.
Speaking of which, you were going to visit them in two days for Christmas.
You had already packed since you would be there for three days to celebrate.
You slowly got up from your comfortable position, heading to the kitchen to refill your hot chocolate. Text books and pens were scattered on the small table, your phone alongside them.
As you began to pour the powder mix into your cup, you began hearing it.
Thump Thump.
It was a bit loud, but muffled. You turned your head to the front door, presumably where the sound was coming from.
Thump Thump.
It couldn't have been a dog or cat, pets weren't allowed in your apartment.
Thump Thump.
Do you check the door, what if its a murder??
Thump Thump.
Oh God you were going to die.
Scratch Scratch.
Now it was scratching your door. The sound made you cringe as you threw the powder and ran to your room. This thing was trying to lure you out, or instill fear before it kills you.
You hid in your bedroom, locking the door as you paced around frantically. You had to call someone. Anyone. You felt around your pockets for your phone.
Your phone.
You left your phone on the table.
Damn it!
Slowly you crept out, shuffling over to the small table by the kitchen. As you picked up your phone, you heard something.
Whatever was outside that door was breathing really hard.
In an instant the scratching started again, it was faster and harsher, and there was a ringing in your ears to accompany it.
You fell to the floor as the ringing got louder, a headache forming. "Stop already! Stop scratching my door!" You shouted, thought it came out more as a whine.
In an instant the scratching and ringing stopped, and the apartment was silent.
Your eyes were dry and your eyelids heavy, as you curled up on the kitchen floor, far too exhausted to get to your bed or call someone.
You let yourself fall into sleeps arms as you lay on the floor, unaware of the tall figure lurking right outside.
