A mother and her 6 years old daughter sat together in the middle of a library. Both of them was reading their own book when the daughter called her mother,
"Mommy?"
"What is it, dear?"
"How did you and Daddy met?
The woman looked up from the book she was holding and looked at her daughter.
"Why did you ask?"
"Well... I read this story about a normal girl whom with the help of a fairy godmother met a prince and became a princess! And I was wondering, since you are a queen, did you meet Daddy the same way the girl met the prince?"
The Queen smiled softly at her daughter, and said, "Well, it's not the exact same, but it is similar,"
"Really?! Tell me, Mommy! Pleaseee," the girl jumped enthusiastically.
The Queen laughed, "Of course I will, now, sit down and be quiet, remember this is a library".
The girl immediately sat down and covered her mouth with both of her hands.
"Good girl, now, where should I begin?"
~~~
I was just a normal girl, I have a loving parent, a protective older brother, and an energetic little sister. We all lived in a small village in Parthevia.
When I was around five or six-
("The same age as me!"
"Yes, darling, the same age as you. Now, do you want me to continue?"
"Oh... Sorry for interrupting,"
"It's okay, dear. Where was I?")
Oh, yes. When I was around five or six, there was a war and both my father and brother was sent to the battlefield as soldiers.
Unfortunately, both of them died in the war and the only thing that's left of them was their swords that my mother had buried along with their body.
Not long after, my mother died because she was overworked trying to keep my sister, herself, and I alive.
My sister and I ended up living with a close friend of our parents, her name was Esra. Her husband died during the same war that killed my father and brother.
Esra has a son, his name is Sinbad-
("He has the same name as daddy!"
"Yes, Sera. Because he is your daddy.")
Sinbad, even at such a young age, was very charismatic and a very admirable person. Even so, I only stayed with Esra until I was able to find a job that accepted little girl like me.
And so, Sinbad and I never really get to know each other.
I found a job as a street vendor, the man who hired me sold a lot of fruits and needed many workers that he didn't care if his employee is just a little girl. My sister ended up working with me and all seems well.
But, good things doesn't stay for a long time, because some gang of robber came to the stand and caused a lot of ruckus, they were all drunk so they just keep on swinging their swords like a mad man.
It ended up killing my sister.
After losing my sister, I vowed to myself that I will learn how to fight and defend myself so that things like this doesn't happen to anybody else. Of course I still worked at the fruit stall, besides owner raised my salary. Even if it was from pity, I wasn't going to refuse extra money.
One day, when I was checking the fruit supplies, I noticed that the cover of one of the barrel of apples was loose. I got curious and decided to check on it. Imagine my surprise when a man with long blond hair sat among the apples.
("Is the weird blond man Uncle Yunan?"
"Yup, who else could it be?"
"So, Uncle Yunan was weird to begin with?"
"Maybe...")
That man yelled at me for opening the barrel and covered the barrel again. I was so shocked that the only thing I can do was scream.
And then Sinbad came.
Apparently he was nearby when I scream and thought that there was trouble.
At first, I didn't recognize him because I never really spent time with him and because it has been a long time since we last saw each other.
He recognized me somehow and offered to help me to deal with Yunan.
I didn't know why back then the reason he often stopped by the fruit stall and I didn't really care because it is nice having someone to talk to. We became a lot more closer after that.
One day, he was gone for almost two month leaving his sick mother alone. I knew that will never leave his mother just like that and I knew that he will return. So, I took care of his mother in his steed.
When he returned his mother has just passed and he looked very devastated. Of course nobody was surprised when he decided that he wanted to travel the world. After all, he had nothing left tying him to this little village.
As much as he loves his mother, everyone knew that it was only because of his sick mother that he didn't leave this village.
I was expecting to be left behind, so, I was really surprised when he asked me to come with him on his journey. I hesitated of course, but then I remember how much my sister told me that she wanted to leave this little village and see what the world is like.
I agreed on my sister's behalf.
And since then, I travelled alongside Sinbad and made a lot of new friends. And in a warm summer night,
Sinbad confessed his feelings to me.
I was shocked, flattered, and happy all at the same time because during our adventure, I had grown to love him.
And when the Kingdom of Sindria is officially a country, he asked me to marry him.
I accepted of course.
"Well, that's how I met your daddy,""Hey, Mommy?"
" What is it darling?"
"Will I meet my own Prince one day? Just like you and Dad?"
The Queen smiled and said, "Of course you will, and you will have your own beautiful fairy tale".
