'Where going to America, where going to America.." the thought repeated in my head, "Where going to America..for a war" I said aloud to myself. We couldn't go to America, I was raised here, in Armania, this country is a constant reminder of my home, my parents, my life, 'I can't go..I can't go..". I walked to my room, oblivious to who or what I was passing. 'Why didn't anyone tell me? I had a right to know', I turned the bronze handel to get into my room, I roamed to my messy bed and laid across it. 'America...America...it might not be so bad...land of the free...home of the brave? I think..'

I had to talk to someone, Mia? No, she was with Domonic, James? Maybe, if he wouldn't try and suck my blood, maybe. I craned my head to look out the window, the sun was still at it's weakest point. I always cherished the sun's beauty, I always cherished it's light, it's warmth- it's comfort, there was still an orangish tint, and a layer of purple in the horizon. The was a slight tap on my door, when I didn't answer, one of the maids peeked her head into my room. "Oh, sorry Miss, I didn't think you were in here." she said as I was leaving the comfort from my king sized bed

"No, it's okay. You can come in." she brought in her cleaning supplies, I smiled at her on my way out, and she returned the favor. I didn't mind leaving, now I have a reason to visit James; other than the America thing. His room was just three down from mine, I raised my hand to knock on his door, but stopped- realizing I was still in my pajamas. I started for my room, but stopped in midstep

"Did someone knock?" James said to me, I could hear the smile in his voice, I did an about face and smirked at him, "I think you look fine." James has the power to hear and control the mind. It annoys me to peices

"Right." I mummered walking into his room, I sat at his desk area, waiting for him to-

"Yes?" he said sitting across from me, I always have to remind myself how fast vampires are, I looked at him for a moment, I was glad but disappointed that he put a shirt on. But I could still see the muscels carving their structure along the inside of his shirt, I looked down, regaining the reason why I was here

"Why didn't you tell me we were going to America?" he looked unprepaired for the question

"It wasn't my job TO tell you."

"How long have you known about this?" I asked getting a little annoyed

"I've known about the war for decades, I've known we were leaving for a few months." he said casually, I stood up furiously

"YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME! NOW I JUST FIND OUT THAT WE'RE LEAVING FOR SOME SECRET WAR IN TWO WEEKS!" I tried to look intimidating, but I was failing miserably

"Relax, you're going to love America. Especially the state we're going to." I could feel him forcing me to sit, I tried fighting it, but gave up

"What state?" I sighed

"The Big Apple!"

"What, I didn't know the americans named states after fruit!"

"Huh? No!," he bellowed at my ignorance, "The Big Apple is the nickname for New York."

"We're going to New York?!" I squealed

"Yea! You're going to love it!"

"Wow, I can't wait now!"

"But we're not going to be in the city."

"What do you mean?" I asked wanting to stay now

"Well, because the war is secret, and America and a few other countries, are oblivious to the fact that vampires are real. We have to keep this secret war, well, secret." I awed in realization, I remembered when my father would tell me bedtime stories about creatures of the night, I didn't believe any of them until the first time I saw one of our neighbors being sucked dry from the neck by a woman I thought was too beautiful to be real. I didn't realize what I was seeing until I saw the body lay limp and cold, the woman looked up at me and smiled, wipping blood away from her mouth. I could see two small fangs poking out of her mouth, she disappeared and reappeared behind me. I could remember her floral scent, but I couldn't forget her spine chilling message she whispered in my ear..."Run..."
