I was sitting at the old assembly stage of school waiting for my friends to arrive. I had already kept my bag in classroom and was enjoying the fresh air.

My school campus occupied a big area and was full of greenery. The road from the main entrance gate to school office was the perfect scenario for a morning walk. Big trees ran parallel to the road on both sides giving fresh air and shade.

The school had two buildings. The old building was bigger one and had secondary and senior secondary section. It also had secondary staff room, office, four computer labs, science labs, Principal office, etc. The new one belonged to primary section.

I knew that after this year is over I was going to miss my school and memories associated with it.

There was going to be some event in school today so all other classes were given holiday except senior secondary. So there was a big silence.

I heard footsteps coming and I looked up. I was surprised to see Arnav arriving so early.

He also noticed my presence and looked at me.

"Hi" I gave a small smile and waved my hands

He was still staring at me but I could see a small smile beginning but it stopped before it culd take a shape.

"Hi" At least he replied.

I didn't know what to say so I kept staring at him.

"You are early today" He said

"Yes, I like to sit here and enjoy the view and the silence" I smiled and looked at the green field.

Arnav came and sat beside me. I was surprised that he initiated a talk with me and now he was giving me company.

"Hmm.. I also like silence and nature." He smiled.

This was the first time he smiled in my presence though it was not directed at me.

"How come you are early today?" I asked

"I thought maybe others would have arrived and we could have practiced football for the upcoming match" He explained

"Ah.. the football match, its next Monday isn't it?" I looked at him

He didn't say anything but nodded. There was an inter school football match on next Monday. Our school had been winning for three years continuosly.

"All the best! Hope this time also you win." I smiled genuinely

"Thanks" He shrugged "Its my first year in this school and hope to win"

"Its your last year also" I pointed out smiling slyly.

He nodded and smiled a little smile.

After that it was silence for about five minutes, neither he said nor me.

I couldn't stop myself. This mystery was killing me.

"Can I ask you something?" I broke the eternal silence that was between us.

"If I say no?" He looked at me, amusement in his eyes.

"I guess, then no" I sighed and a sadness overcame upon me. I looked down at leaf on the road as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.

"What is it?" He asked

"Why were you so angry at me when we first met?" I asked replaying that scene in my mind.

He was silent and was looking at the same leaf that I had been. A frown was present on his handsome face.

Time passed but he didn't reply.
