Elyza's POV
Everyone went to get something to eat besides Kade, he wanted to stay with me. He is currently sitting to my left while I sit there in my hospital bed lost in my thoughts.
After a few minutes my thoughts were interrupted by Kade.
"Why didn't you talk to me?" He asks.
"I didn't talk to anyone. I didn't want to be a bother. I don't want to be one. That's all I've ever been."
"Elyza you could text me about the price of freaking tomatoes and you're still not going to be a bother to me." Kade says.
I look at him. "I'm sorry I didn't talk to you. I'm sorry I caused everyone to worry. But I am not 100% sorry I tried to kill myself."
"Why not?" He asks confused.
"Because I've wanted to die since my parents died. I've tried to do it a few times. At the orphanage the lady always told us we would never amount to anything and the best thing we could ever do was just kill our selves and that's just drilled in my brain. And sometimes I just can't ignore it and think that she's right." I say looking back down.
Kade takes a moment before he speaks back up. "Elyza look at me."
I look up.
"She couldn't be anymore wrong than that. The best thing you could ever do is live. You have so many people here who love you and care for you. We will always be here for you and I want you to remeber that."
I nod my head. "Thanks." as soon as I say that the door opens and everyone comes back in.
"Here thought you'd he hungry" my dad says giving me a slice of cheese pizza and a lemonade.
"Thanks" I reply taking a bite. It's actually not bad for hospital food. Once I finish I look at the clock and it's 10.
I look at my dad and mouth "I'm tired"
He nods his head and looks at everyone else. "Well Elyza should get some sleep. Catch up tomorrow?"
Everyone nods there heads but Jake. "Do you mind if I stay?" He ask.
My dad looks at me and I look at Jake nodding my head.
Everyone gets up and comes up to me. Everyone giving me a hug. I can't really hug back that much because it hurts.
After they all leave my dad speaks up. "Elyza do you mind if I sleep in the empty bed or do you want me to sleep with you?"
"It doesn't matter. I just want to sleep." I say shrugging.
My dad gets up kissing my forehead. "Goodnight I love you."
"Night I love you too." I say as he walks over to the bed almost instantly falling asleep. He never goes to sleep this early. But then again it's been a day.
My thoughts are interrupted by Jake. "Can we talk?"
I nod my head scooting over a patting the spot next to me.
He lays next to me.
"So what do you want to talk about?"
"I am so sorry that you had to go through whatever led to this. You don't deserve pain. I am so freaking grateful that you are still here. I love you so much and if you ever need anything don't forget I will always be here." He says.
"Thanks and I love you too uncle Jake." I reply yawning and putting my head on his shoulders.
I fall asleep realizing that I have people who love and care about me and it just sucks that it took this to realize this.
I Elyza Paul finaly have a family.
