"You really should be careful, you know that?"

Delicate hands rubbed through the open flesh wounds.

"I'm trying-nggh! My best," Roger groaned, "It's hard to stand as a one man army against a pack of fully grown wolves. You understand that right, Magenta?"

The said girl applied salve through a large scratch mark that will surely scar on Roger's chest.

"I understand, but surely there must be a more careful way to fight them? I'm afraid medicine won't always save you next time," Magenta's voice trembled slightly as she wrapped bandages over Roger's chest.

"Careful isn't really something I'm trying to be. These wolf attacks get worse and worse each moment. One day, I might have to sacrifice my own life,"Roger stood up and walked away from Magenta, wincing from the pain of his chest. He leaned towards the doorframe for support as he looked at her, "And when that day comes, I hope that you will be there to lay down my casket."

The door shut behind the woman. She clutched her stomach, hitching her breath. Magenta felt a small bump in her hand from her uterus.

"I hope that day won't come soon,"

"Hyaah!" Ruby shouted as she slashed towards another wolf

"Hyaah!" Ruby shouted as she slashed towards another wolf.

But didn't she kill that other one already? Well the answer is simple.

The whole town's infested with a pack of those beasts. While Ruby and her mother tried to call for help in the town, seems like the town itself is busy.  The men fighting the wolves with all their strength while the women and children cower in fear inside the bunker.

"Ruby, your hands," Magenta noticed the slight red on her daughter's palm. Her mother dragged her to an abandoned pharmacy that was not too far away.

"Oh..., it's kinda hard to use this scythe, since its a bit too heavy for me," Ruby stammered.

"You should be careful," Magenta wrapped Ruby's hands with bandages.

"I'm sorry mom, I just couldn't stand loosing you," Ruby smiled goofily, "That's why I went too overboard."

"I'm not going anywhere, daughter of mine," she hugged Ruby tightly,  sentence rang in her head.

'She's just like her father'
