Prologue:

A long time ago, humans lived in harmony with one another. Even elves and dwarves loved each other's company. Animals prospered, especially dragons. Not the Chinese dragons like myth, but Western dragons. Regal, lovely, and dangerous creatures they were. Easily tamed when cared for humans by birth, dragons always followed their heart and minds. Their bond with humans were eternal, as long as the human lived, they would always hear each other's thoughts. It was great in battle, though there was no reason for battle back then. But then one lone dragon, a black dragon who was born wild and raised in the wild by his own parents, who weren't the best, was forced to obey orders from a King. But this King had no good plans for the dragon or the world, his plans were distraught with evil, murder, and the shedding of blood, people and dragons alike. The dragon, angered by being forced by people to obey this King, quickly agreed to those plans, and then havoc was born.

That one black dragon and King, with their black hearts, burned whole towns, forests, and they even destroyed a lot of the elven cities, which were once beautiful. Made of stone, they were not easily destroyed by fire, but with the blackness of scorch marks, elves abandoned the cities, almost never to be seen again. The King, taking over the country with the fear of humans and elves alike. Dwarves had been used by the King for the creation of weapons, and they didn't fear him, but respected him instead. The rest of the country, wrought with fear and indecision, cowered under anyone who served him. Two hundred years passed, cursed with pain and suffering for everyone. And now, people are beginning to forget why he was feared in the first place. But legends, stories told so many times they've become myths, are beginning to give people doubts of whether or not this world will ever be the same...........
