Chapter 7

Bella's POV
After leaving Bain's work all I could think about was him leaving as fast as he did. Did I do something wrong? I mean I don't think I did, I mean I--
"Hey Bella, what are you thinking about?" Alice asked. We were currently walking around Target getting what we needed for the party.
"Nothing, just can't wait for the party." I lied. I didn't want to go to the party after the way Bain left m--us at the store.
"Yeah right, you were thinking about Bain." Maddie said walking around the corner. She knows me to well.
"No--"
"Bella, we saw the way he was looking at you. And the look on your face when he ran off saying he had to get back to work" Sapphire chimed in, "We've all seen the way he looks at you and the way you blush when he says something cute." Why are they ganging up on me?
"Whatever, let's go so we can set up the party." I was beginning to get extremely frustrated.

Later at the party
The party was in full swing by 10 o'clock and there were people who were already wasted, lightweights.
"Bella, hey what are you thinking about?" Sapphire asked while walking up to me with something in her hand.
  "I'm thinking that there are a bunch of lightweights here." I said laughing, "What's that?"
   "This is some of my famous happy juice, try it." She said while handing it to me. I took a sip and instantly regretted it. Sapphire's happy juice is strong as hell.
  "Damn Sapph, this is stuff is strong." I handed the cup back to her, she just shrugged her shoulders and chugged what was left.
  "Yeah whatever." She laughed. "Hey is that Bain?"
  I looked around excitedly looking for him. I didn't think he would come. Not after what happened at Target.
  He was walking towards us with a smile on his face, he looked happy and relieved to see me. Why does he look relieved?
  "Hey I'm glad I found you. I was hoping to talk to you." He sounded nervous.
  "Okay, let's go out here, there's less noise." I pointed out towards the patio and waked out onto it.
  There was an awkward silence at first until Bain spoke.
  "So look, earlier at Target I didn't mean to run off like that." He scratched the back of his neck, he seems to do that when he's nervous.
  "I get it. You didn't want to be around us or me anymore." I said looking down at the flowers in the garden.
  "Bella, I wanted to stay. It's just if I would've stayed any longer I would've embarrassed myself in front of you and your friends. I didn't want to do that, especially in front of you." He was standing in front of me now.
  We stood there staring at each other for a few minutes and then Bain did something I did not expect. He kissed me.
Bain just kissed me.
