Kalani Deiz was the first and only child to Leonardo and Lia Deiz. Kalani was born in October as a mutant with a small fox like tail. After Kalani was born a short while after her mother passed, her father was devastated when he found out and blamed Kalani for it claiming that her being a mutant cursed his wife. Kalani was abandoned in the hospital until she was found by a Japanese lady of the age 75 who was there as working. Kalani grew up with the lady who was named Midoka Okuro who taught Kalani that even though her and others are different from others, they still deserve to be treated equally and live in peace with others. Kalani's adopted grandmother gave her her mothers scarf saying she should keep it as a memorial. Kalani always takes the scarf with her where ever she goes. As Kalani grew up her fire powers began to activate, Midoka always tried to help her when ever she was afraid of it.
When Kalani began school she was teased a lot because of her tail, a few months after she began school she left and began to be home schooled by Midoka. Kalani grew up learning about Japanese culture and american culture, she became intelligent and also fluent in Japanese. During her teenage years she met a girl named Verona who she became friends with, Verona introduced her to Gianni and Violet and the group decided to form a team that would help people. Kalani made the teams goal to help others and help people learn and know that everyone no matter freak, mutant, monster, or normal should live together in peace and not have to worry about being different. The team started and after a few years they gained more members. During the time the team was made, Kalani's superhero name Fennec was created.
One day while she was with the team in their base she got a call from one of the doctors from the hospital, Kalani was notified about her foster grandmother being very ill. Midoka Okuro was bedridden and had to stay in the hospital, she was told she wouldn't be able to live past the year due to the illness. Kalani was devastated but kept it a secret from her team so they wouldn't worry. Kalani protects her team and makes sure they are safe so she doesn't lose the only family she'll have left when her grandma goes.
Using her abilities she helps her team protecting them and others, but one day she had to go into hiding as well as her team members. Fennec went on a mission for a year to spy on an organization called The Anubis Organization, they planned to wipe out people they found unworthy to live in their idea of a world with people only who are powerful and intelligent lived in. Fennec was found and her info was looked into, they followed her back to the city her team lives in and they are being hunter. This is the beginning of a fight that will test her strength, hope, and determination.
