The finally bell rang, signaling it was time to go home. Many meet up with their friends and make plans after school. I, for once, actually have plans.
Raku said we were going to the mall. I rather not, but he's right I need this job. And I need to look decent, which I haven't looked in years.
He decided that we meet up where the front of the school is. I didn't have any time to complain, so it was settled. I wait, feeling anxious, looking no where but down.
I feel as if everyone is staring at me, everyone can hear what I'm thinking, and can see through me. I look up to see that no one is in fact looking. What a relief.
"Let's go Tsubaki," I hear a familiar voice.
I look up to see Raku smiling at me.
I nod, and follow behind him. I hear whispers.
How can he not hear the whispers??? Is he deaf?? Everyone as all their eyes on me and him. A loser, with a guy that ladies like. Great.
I never really asked why Raku hangs it with me. With his image, he can make a lot of friends and choose to ignore me and do like the others do.
Maybe one day I'll ask him.
We get to the mall, filled and buzzed with many people of all sorts.
"Now... Let's go shopping," Raku says.
I feel... Quite uncomfortable shopping with him. Is he going to follow and look at me choosing some clothes? All of a sudden I feel bad. I can't let him buy me things! But.. we're already here and it's too late now.
"I don't need much.. just a shirt and some pants will do.." I say to him and head into a clothing store.
"I'll wait outside," he says, reading my mind, "buy whatever you need." He hands me a 100 dollar bill.
I open my mouth. "I-I can't accept this, this too much.." I say returning it to him. He shakes his head. "It's alright. I work." He says and he hands it to me again.
"I'll pay you back when I can," I say to him and enter the store, giving up. I won't use it all. Probably like $30?
I'll give him the change. I look around and see many nice things. I get a simple white shirt with a dark green cardigan. I then get some jeans. This outfit looks pretty nice, plus it's cheap.
I head over to the line and wait my turn.
It came out to be $24.
The shirt was $5, the cardigan was $8, and the jeans, the most priciest, were $11.
I got out and headed over to Raku, who was using his phone. He looks up and smile to me. "That's was quick!"
I nod. I don't take long.
