Chapter 29: Shona's Island research
That very next morning Shona was running down the hallways of Hogwarts, her arms full with paper and books. The bags under her eyes were very prominent, just as they were when she first discovered her power but she couldn't care less. It had all been worth it.
She ran down the steps of the dungeon then accidentally tripped in one of the very last steps, before she realised it she had a nose bleed. She growled at herself and took out her wand when a very familiar pair of shoes walked around from behind her, Shona looked up at the disapproving look that Lucy Snape was giving her.
In the past couple of days Lucy had changed and it was kind of worrying to Shona; her skin had turned a lot paler which made her green eyes stand out even more, her skin just about covered her cheek bones and she was considerably skinnier.
Nightmares Shona thought, almost feeling sorry for her friend. Shona's memories had never been invaded and she couldn't imagine how it would be to have Kingston and Zuc constantly invading her privacy.
"Are you purposely going make your nose even worse?" She tutted, taking out her own wand from the robe she was wearing. It was obvious she had gone for another early morning walk which wasn't an unusual thing anymore.
"No..." Shona muttered as Lucy knelt down to her level, aimed her wand at Shona's nose and performed a silent spell. Shona yelped in pain for a second then the next second she had a fully repaired nose.
And while the spell had stunned her Lucy had cleared up her books and papers and was waiting for Shona to stand up and take them. Shona scrambled to her feet and took her books with thanks. Lucy pushed open the door.
To Shona's surprise Snape wasn't pacing around in his dungeons or private quarters. In fact, he was no where to be seen which worried her slightly but that thought quickly disappeared at the thought of all the havoc she could make.
"Where's Sni - I mean, your dad?" Shona began but thought it would offend Lucy a little bit as it was her real dad and she didn't look too well to take a joke.
"He's out somewhere, I don't know where. I've let him get on with it as I didn't want him to suffer looking after me because of the visions." Lucy replied, her voice too soft and distant. It was as though her pupils had disappeared and all that was left was a pit of green. "He's out there somewhere..." she repeated eerily and grabbed a photo off of Snape's desk while staring straight ahead. "He's going to come back."
"You alright?" Shona asked, a little concerned as Lucy placed the picture down and stalked across the room and grabbed a glass of water.
"He, won't get me, Shona. He won't get me. He'll never get me. He thinks he can but he can't."
"Lucky! This isn't a Macbeth play! Talk sense!" And as soon as the words left Shona's mouth she regretted it as Lucy was there in front of her, the green eyes piercing into Shona's blue ones.
"Kingston and Lord Zuc want me, they want me for the orb. They know I'm one of the chosen ones. They want to kill me for information! They will do everything in their will for that orb! I AM IN DEEP DANGER!"
Lucy yelled those last words just as Snape walked in and his eyes went wide as he saw what was happening, he ran over to Lucy and grabbed hold of her. Shona stared in shock as Snape pinned her down for her and Shona's protection.
"What are you - ?" Shona began but was interrupted by Snape.
"Shh!" He hissed then whispered in Lucy's ear. "Tell me what you know."
