I woke up for school the next morning in a fog. I stumbled into the bathroom for my shower, and without thinking, I stepped on the scale. Dammit. Still 198... I need to fix that. Maybe if I went on a diet, I would lose weight. And daily exercise. I continued with my thoughts as I stepped out of the shower.
I wonder how I'll keep track of my calorie intake. It'll be kind of hard to find the percentage on everything I eat.
I got the idea of a diet journal, and rules for my diet. I smiled at the image of a thinner me in my mind, and got on the bus. I started towards my usual seat when I saw something strange. A girl was sitting there. Slightly annoyed, but filled with curiosity, I sat next to her. She had headphones in, so I nudged her side to get her attention.
"Wha- Oh! Hi. Sorry. I was kind of out of it. My name is Annie, what's yours?" I was surprised by this girl, she was bold, and friendly. And she was really pretty. I decided I want to be her friend.
I introduced myself with a timid smile. She smiled back, and told me about herself. She just moved here from Portland, Oregon. She is an only child, and lives with her mother.
As we are getting to know each other, the bus pulls up to school. I see Charolette, and tell Annie to come with me to meet her. We hop off the bus, and Charolette immediately starts asking questions.
"Who's this? Where'd she come from? What's her name? Why are you with her?"
"Woah Charolette. Calm down. This is Annie, she just moved here from Oregon, I met her on the bus."
"Hiiiii!!!" Charolette immediately hugs her. Annie giggles and says "hi" back. I'm glad they like each other. We walk into the school and ask her about her schedule. She pulls it out and as I read through it, I get more excited than I was before.
"Our schedules are identical!" I exclaim. Annie sighs with relief and says, "Oh thank God. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find someone in any classes to talk to. And now you can show me where I'm supposed to go!" I grin at her and assure her she'll get along nicely here.
We head to homeroom, and give her the seat inbetween me and Charolette. We are talking about where she used to live when Hailey walks in. Oh great. Here we go again.
"Aww look at that! fatty thinks she has friends!" I get so embarrassed. I'm about to run out, when Annie jumps up and says,
"Hey bitch, how about you stop saying stuff like that before I beat the shit out of you." I'm dumbfounded. I've just met this girl this morning, and she's already defending me?! Charolette never does that. She's just the shoulder I cry on afterwards.
Hailey snorts, unfazed by Annie's threats.
"And what are you going to do to me? BREATHE on me? You don't have the balls to do anything." Now, I'm confused at that, because girls don't have balls.
But before I could even laugh, Annie has jumped up, and is racing towards her. She swings her arm, and punches her in the eye. She gets down next to where Hailey is on the ground, and whispers, "If you EVER offend me or my friends again. I'll do worse. And, if you or your little friends try to say I was the one who punched you, I'll say it was self defense."
Hailey nods, and holding her eye, she walks out the door. Her drones follow suit, quietly cursing Annie. I look up at Annie, who is standing by my desk, and say, "You. Are. Amazing." She smiles at me, says "I know," and takes her seat next to my and Charolette.
