How I spent my summer vacation, I can sum it up one hyphenated word: NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCES. Turns out my life is as crazy and scary as it is.
I didn't wanna be half-blood. I didn't ask to sign up for anything but this is my life and now I have to embrace it. My names Crispus Allen and this is the story of how I found out I was special.

It all started earlier on the last week of school. In math class, we were discussing multiplying and dividing decimals. I was just there, drawing in my math text book. Then my teacher called on me to answer a problem. "Crispus Allen, what is the answer to this question?" I looked at it, my dyslexia must had been acting up because it looked like it said, '3481+6.882.' I set my pencil down and sat up straight. "I'm sorry ma'am I don't know." She nodded slowly. "Is there anyone else?" I looked around to see if people were looking at me. Thankfully, no one was. Sadly, I think I heard 3 girls snickering. My mind then went back to reality.

At 12:15,my friend, Lucius and I were eating lunch then that's where it all began. "Hey!" A voice said. "If it isn't Allen and his nerdy friend." I clenched my fists under the table. "What do you want, Ralph?" You see, Ralph Steward, he's my bully he has been for a year now, I was still kinda new to this school so of course he'd pick on me first.
Also I was African-American though I was part of it. My skin color was still a commonly good shade of brown so it never really bothered me that much when he calls me "Black boy." Though I was grateful he didn't call me that today."Gimme your lunch," he said. "I'm hungry." I looked down at my brown paper bag. My mom had made me a ham and cheese sandwich with a Caprisun. "Well? Chop chop." He clapped twice. "Don't make me come over there and take it." I looked nervously at Lucius then at my lunch. I wasn't about to let this jerk eat my lunch much less take it. So I took my chances and stood up, "No," I told him. He arched his eyebrows. "No?" He said as he rolled up his left sleeve and just before he could roll up the other one his hands were covering up his nose and he was on the ground. I realized I had just punched him.

The only sound I heard was a CRACK! I looked at my fist to see it still perfectly fine as if I hadn't taken a jab at him yet. He got up , "You really are a freak, Allen!" He raced to the nurse's office. I looked behind to see Lucius's hands covering his nose and mouth, his eyes wide open.  All the attention in the cafeteria drew towards me. Then a lady's voice coming from the speaker startled me. "Crispus Allen," she said, "please come to the front office."
I walked through the tables, then took the Walk of Shame to the principal's office.
