Chapter 2

I got home from school that day at about 3:30, stumbling into my house.
"Im home!" I shouted, and then I heard my mom come out of the kitchen, with her kitchen cloves on.
"Hey sweetie, how was your day?"
"Ugh, it was a Monday for sure."
She chuckled slightly, then she walked back into the kitchen, with me following.
Then I heard my brother's bus pull up, and I saw him hop out of the bus walking to our door.
"O and honey, I've been meaning to tell you that I'm working till 9 at night the rest of the week. It's just been so crazy at the hospital."
I nodded, giving her a quite okay. Then my brother walked in the door.
"Hey" I said when I saw him.
"Hey Mads."
My brother was in 7th grade, since he was 3 years younger than me, and I'm a junior. Him and I had a close relationship, and I gave him girl advice when he needed it. He was really little when we first moved here, just with my mom and I. We moved here from New York because of the divorce of my mom and dad. He was such a drunk and an idiot for the things he did. He almost tore our whole family apart in one day. But anyway, he's gone now.

I was in my room doing homework, when my mom came knocking on the door.
"Yeah ma."
"Hey honey, Lisa was just on the phone with me. Grayson is sulking around at their house. Apparently he super upset about something."
Lisa was Grayson's mom if you didn't know.
And he must be upset and the whole Julianna thing. I guess I have to go see him and talk to him. That's what best friends are for.
"I know what it's about, I'll be over in his house in 20."
She nodded, closing my bed room door behind her.

About 20 minutes later, I hopped in my jeep, driving it for only 5 minutes to Grayson and Ethan's house. I pulled in the driveway, then hopped out. I went to their door, which was always oversized in a form. I knocked, and almost immediately the door opened. It's was Lisa, smiling at me.
"Oh hello baby, how are you." She asked politely, and I smiled.
"I'm good, how are you?"
"Oh I'm alright honey, but your best friend Grayson is not looking happy."
"I'll check up on him."
I said, then she let me in, and I led my way up the stairs to his bedroom.
I heard the tv playing, quietly through the door. I knocked and I heard him say,
"Mom I told you to leave me alone."
I then opened the door slightly, putting my head in the door.
"Gray, it's me." I said, then he looked up from the tv, he looked surprised. But his eyes were bloodshot, he must of been crying.
"Oh hey, come in." He said, and surprisingly smiled. I walked in.
"How are you." I asked, plopping down on his bed.
"Definitely not the best."
"Sit." I said, gesturing the spot if his bed next to mine. He sulked down next to me, laying his head on my shoulder.
"I can't believe she did that."
"Julianna?"
"Yeah, why did she dump me?"
"Why have you dumped so many girls?" I asked sarcastically, and he nudged me slightly.
"You must of really liked her."
He sighed looking at me in the eyes,
"I don't know if I liked her."
"What? Then why are you so upset?"
"I liked being with her, but I didn't exactly like her in general."
"Oh, well that definitely doesn't make sense." I said, laughing a little.
"Hey, I thought we don't judge."
"We don't."
He just leaned in my shoulder more, and I think he was crying.
"Can you stay the night?" He asked me, and now he was definitely crying.
"Of course ill stay the night." I told him, and he smiled up at me.
"Sorry you're seeing me cry."
"It's fine." I said and smiled.
He went and turned of the tv, and came back over to me on the bed. I hopped under the covers that smelt like him and he joined.
I laid up a little, and he rested him head on my shoulder again.
"Thanks for always being here for me Mads"
"That what best friends are for."
I then pulled out my phone, giving my mom a quick text about how I was staying over.
She responded with a heart emoji and and okay. She also told me to be home in the morning by six to get ready for school, so I set my alarm for 6.
"Goodnight loser."
"Goodnight cry baby."
And with that we were asleep.
