Alia's POV

Walking into the school on a Saturday wasn't exactly how I pictured my weekend. When the principle called my mom I wasn't expecting Alan to answer, which wasn't a pretty sight.

Earlier

I walk into the house and I immediately know something is wrong. My mom, brother, and Alan are all in the living room holding pieces of paper.

"Honey, sit down." I look at my mother confused and my brother has tears in his eyes and Alan has a firm look on his face.

"What's going on?" I asked worriedly and sat down with my bag in my lap. Alan rubbed the brim of his nose and my mother started crying.

"What's wrong?" I asked frantically,

"Are you smoking Alia Lee?" Alan blurted and I bust out laughing.

"This isn't a joke Alia." My mother said angrily. I cough in my laughs and look serious.

"No I'm not smoking." They all cross their arms, even Carter. I scoff and stand up, as does my mother. She starts reading her paper,

"Alia, we all love you, and smoking will hurt yo-" I put up my hand and glare,

"The cigarette wasn't mine, it was this kids, I picked it up and got in trouble for touching it and pushing him. That's it!" I yell and run up to my room with out another glance.

Now

I walk into Mr. Smiths class room and shrug down into a sit. He looks up from his book, sees me and looks back down at his book. I sigh and lay my head into my arms and close my eyes. I always wondered why when you do that you see random spirals of green, yellow, red, and blue. Just me? Okay, well I always see it. I finally almost fall sleep then I hear a door open, then slam, hard. I sit up and I see brunette hair, a leather jacket, black skinny jeans, and ray vans. I immediately know who it is,

"Hi." he says bluntly and I scoff, and he glares at me.

"I said 'Hi'." I ignore him and raise my hand, Mr. Smith waves his hand and I look at Guy and walk out of the room to the restroom. It is on the second floor of the school and I'm on the first, I decide to take the elevator and press the button and wait for it to come down. As I'm waiting I hum, it opens and I smile to myself and walk in and as I walk in someone puts their hand over my mouth and I panic. Then I am shifted around, and I am greeted with golden brown eyes. I furrow my brows and he smirks.

"Don't scream when I take my hand off, understand?" he raises an eyebrow and I roll my eyes and bite his hand and he pulls away yelling,

"Fuck!" I gasp and hit his chest, then he pushes me up against the wall, then the elevator stops and the light flickers off. I look at Guy and glare at him. He raises his eyebrow,

"Blame the kid who looks like trouble. Typical bitch." he mutters the last part, and I cross my arms and slide down the wall. Then a voice comes in,

"Don't worry whoever is in the elevator, help will come, since its Saturday, help will not come until Monday. I am sorry, we will get you out as soon as possible." I groan loudly, as does Guy,

"Problem prom queen?" he scoffs and I turn my head from him. I feel the elevator move and I get excited and then I realize its Guy moving. I frown and pull my legs up to my chest and wrap my arms around my legs and cuddle my face into my arms.

"Why are you sad?" I hear Guy speak up and I look at him like he is insane. He raises his eyebrow for the third time.

"We have no way of getting out, and you're perfectly fine with that?" I ask and he shrugs, I roll my eyes and grab my water bottle out of my bag and take a sip.

"Want some?" I ask Guy and he takes a sip too, then I put the cap on and put it back in my bag.

"So prom queen." Guy crosses his legs, sets his elbows on his knees and leans in,

"Who are you at this school exactly?" this time it was my turn to raise my eyebrow,

"What do you mean?"

"You know, like the basics." I shake my head and he leans in more,

"Okay are you a cheerleader?" I shake my head,

"Dancer?" Another shake.

"Hmm, geek?" I laugh and shake my head again.

"Oh I know!" I sit up and cross my legs so we are across from eachother and wait for what he has to say.

"The slut." he smirks and I gasp and hit his arm,

"No!" I yell and he raises his hands in defence,

"Okay, okay! Then what are you?" I look away and back at him,

"I read." He laughs, I look at him confused.

"What's funny about that?" I defend, and he waves his hands around,

"Nothing, nothing. But tell me prom queen." I tilt my head in confusion.

"Why read for fun?" I laugh this time,

"Why not?" and he scratches his neck,

"Well, its boring."

"No its not, you can live any book. Just need imagination."

"What do you mean Alia?" He said my name, and that's when I smiled.

"Like in Romeo and Juliet, you can be whoever you want to be, like Mercutio, or; or Lady Capulet." he nods for me to go on.

"Or if you read a historical book, you can pretend to live back then and live through it!" he throws his head back and I laugh as well,

"Well prom queen, I might need to start reading more." he smiles.

"Well what about you?" He raises his brow, again.

"What about me."

"Mr. Big and Bad, what's your portrait?" He raises that dang brow again,

"Player?" He shakes his head,

"Sports crazed?" He chuckles and shakes his head again, I go to speak but he sets his hand up and stops, and what he says next. I did not expect.

"Prom queen, I am a convict."
