She was everything to her until... they were ripped from each other. Everything went downhill from there and it was all her own fault. Why was she such an idiot!? She could've... stopped there...

"Summer!" I cried out, hugging the pinkette sitting in the car next to me. She gave me a chuckle and said, "I've never been camping before". "My parents are friends with the owners here, so we're gonna get the best lot and have the best camping trip ever!" I proclaimed.

The trip was about 3 hours. Luka had her face stuffed in some book so I was on my phone dabbling with social media. I was looking through all of my classmates' posts about summer vacation when I came across an account I hadn't looked over in a while. Gumi. She was hanging out with Ia, what a surprise. Grrr...

Wait... no, what am I doing!? Why can't I get over her? I have Luka who's a better best friend then I could ever hope for!

I quickly shut off my phone and pocketed it, an attempt made to make me stop thinking about her. It didn't work much but luckily we were almost there.

I noticed Miku get upset from the corner of my eye. Her eyebrows furrowed and she shut off her phone in a huff. I debated asking if something was wrong- after all her parents were in the car with us and I doubt whatever she was upset about, she didn't want to get them involved. I didn't have to ponder it for long as we pulled into a gravel parking lot.

We unloaded the car and headed towards the campsite office where Miku's parents and another man discussed which lot they wanted. Miku seemed pretty lost in thought the whole time, so I awkwardly leaned against a wall and waited for the discussion to reach a decision.

Something quickly caught my eye out of one of the windows. Three figures were in the distance, one with green hair, and the other two had different shades of blonde hair. I thought for a moment they could be... no, what were the chances they would come to the same campsite 3 hours away?

The conversation seemed to reach an answer and Miku's parents directed us to follow them. As we walked, Miku still seemed to be in a funk so I tried giving her a smile but she didn't seem to notice. To entertain myself during the walk to the camping lot, I studied Miku's parent's relationship. I often never saw them due to their work schedule so it was a rare opportunity.

Miku's mother was a strict but loving woman. She had short brown hair and an attention grabbing attitude. Miku has mentioned before that she was a saleswoman and I could easily see why. Miku's father, by contrast, seemed to be a calm and reserved businessman, sporting equally short blue hair. He was quiet and when he spoke he was kind. Their relationship mostly consisted of her mother talking and her father speaking up to give his input or advice everyone once and a while.

My eyes studied the small stones that made up the walkway to the site. We quickly reached the site and my parents had us help them put up a tent. I looked at Luka once we finished and she gave me a half curious-half worried look.

"Why don't you girls go explore the trails for a bit? Your father and I have to set up the fire circle," Mother commented and I looked to Luka with a nod. "Ok!" I responded and I started towards the trail, Luka right behind me.

Once out of earshot of my parents, I heard Luka ask, "Hey, are you alright?". I spun to look at her curiously. "Yeah?" I responded questioningly. "Sorry, you were kind of out of it when we were going to the campsite and in the car," She explained. I suddenly knew what she meant.

"Oh, haha! No, I'm ok! I was just- uh... disappointed by the cost of boots I really wanted!" I lied, knowing Luka was probably sick of hearing about Gumi and Ia. "Are you sure?" She asked. "I'm sure." I responded.
