A dark grey and white tom was curled up on the high rock, his head raised to where he can see his five kits running around. A beige she-cat sat next to him, her bright blue eyes shifted from looking at her kits, to her mate.
"Ashstar, The kits are growing so big! I can't believe they're going to be apprentices soon..." She smiled and looked back to the kits, love glittered in her eyes. Ashstar nodded and watched his youngest daughter pin his only son. "I can't believe it either. They'll make fine warriors though."
The beige she-cat chuckled "Your just saying that because they're your kits!" Ashstar snorted "Don't be ridiculous Softsun! It's not just because they're my kits!" Softsun looked away "Suuurrreee~" She giggled before standing up and stretching.
Ashstar shook his head and watched her make her way down the high rock. All the kits perked up and ran towards her. The tom smiled sweetly and started to name each of his little gems.
His daughters walked gracefully over to their mother, The oldest; Featherkit, the second; Sandkit, the third; Goldkit, and his youngest; Rosekit. His only son, and his youngest kit ran past his beautiful daughters to reach his mother first. All the she-kit bristled and all in unison yelled "Stormkit!!"
Ashstar smiled and stood up to join them. When he reached the ground, he nuzzled Rosekit and purred when the rest of them ran around his paws. Suddenly, a cat came through the entranced, followed by two of Ashstar's warriors.
"Grandma!!" The kits shrieked and ran over to the silver and white Fallenclan cat. Ashstar smiled "Thank you for bringing her." He waved his tail and the two warriors nodded and walked away. "Hello Mother." Ashstar licked the new she-cats cheek.
"Grandma! Are you going to stay here now!" Rosekit squeaked bouncing up and down. The Fallenclan cat shook her head "No...I'm only here to see you guys for a bit." She smiled sadly.
Ashstar sighed "How long will you be staying?" "Only a few hours. I want to leave by sundown, I promised Graystar I'd be back to get ready for dawn patrol tomorrow." Softsun frowned and pushed Stormkit towards his grandmother.
"That's a shame...They've been waiting a long time to see you Silverlake!" "I know Softsun...But I'll see you all at the gatherings! I promise." The old cat smiled and sat down to nuzzle all her sons kits.

Soon, night fell and all the kits slept, curled up in the nursery, only one still sat awake, talking with Silverlake. "Why do you have to go grandma?" Rosekit frowned, looking up. "I'm not going to be gone for long dear...We'll see each other again...and remember, i'll always be right here." She lifted her paw and touched a claw to Rosekit's chest. She giggled and nuzzled her grandma.
"Oh! I forgot to give you something." Silverlake looked back and pulled out a beautiful red rose. Rosekit gasped "Ohhhh, It's so pretty!" "It's for you my dear...So you will never forget me." She placed the rose behind the kits right ear.
Rosekit smiled brightly. "Don't forget, the rose may wilt and lose it's color, but my love for you will never die out, and it will burn brightly for years to come." Silverlake licked Rosekit's head and stood up.
"I have to go now. Good night little Rosekit." Rosekit frowned and tried to fight back tears. She turned around and curled next to Stormkit. Sadly, she watched Silverlake disappear as she walked out of the nursery.

A year later, Ashstar looked down at his kits, they were all lined up and sitting straight. Softsun had cleaned all of them a few minutes before, so all their fur was pushed down and cleanly combed.
Ashstar smiled "Feathershine, Sandflower, Goldfur, Stormshadow, and Roseblossom." His heart melted as he repeated his kits new names, they were warriors now, and they were ready to fight for Streamclan.
Ashstar jumped down and landed next to his deputy, Ravenscar. The black she-cat looked over at him. She had a large claw mark down her right eye, making her look menacing. She looked down at her claws.
"Are you proud of them Ashstar?" She questioned, her voice low. Ashstar chuckled "Of course I am!" Ravenscar looked up at him. "Is it true that you will pick one of the little princesses to take over in leadership once they are old enough?"
Ashstar paused for a second. "Well...Yes.." Ravenscar snarled "That's what I thought..." Suddenly, she leaped forward, grabbing Ashstar's neck. Blood splattered over her muzzle as she stared down at her dying leader.
Suddenly, rogues raced out of the bushes around them. Fighting broke out quickly, Softsun ran towards her kits, pushing them towards the back of the camp.
Feathershine screamed as a rogue jumped out and bit her neck. The soft furred silver she-cat froze as blood poured from her neck. Softsun cried out as she watched her first born fall to the ground, dead.
She turned back to see two rogues land on Goldfur and Stormshadow. Goldfur's head smashed into a rock, letting out a bone shattering crunch. Softsun screamed and raced to Roseblossom and Sandflower.
Stormshadow suddenly dropped to the ground, a large gash on his throat. Softsun pushed her remaining two daughters, trying to get them to safety. Sandflower snarled as a rogue jumped towards Roseblossom.
The beige she-cat jumped forward to protect her younger sister. Roseblossom stared in horror as Sandflower and the rogue rolled away, both of the fearsome cats had aimed towards each others necks, and none of them stood up to claim victory.
Softsun sobbed as she pushed Roseblossom forward, leaving her four dead kits and her dying mate, she desperately pushed her last kit to a small hole behind the elders den.
"Run Roseblossom!!" Softsun yelled before turning around and racing back into camp. Roseblossom watched as her mother disappeared into the crowd. She turned and raced out of the camp, tears stained her cheek.
Suddenly, a young cat, around Roseblossom's age jumped out and pinned her. She gasped and stared at him. He looked strangely familiar to her. He froze before jumping off her and running off.
Roseblossom stood up and shook herself. She began to run again, but her mind was swirling with many questions. Why! Why did this have to happen! Is mom okay? Who was that strange cat? Why'd he let me go?
While she was thinking, she didn't look where she was going. Her front paws suddenly slipped from under her. Screaming, she fell down the large ditch, her head smacking into a rock. The rose behind her ear flew off after being crushed by the rock. Blood slowly dripped from the wound on her head.
The last princess of Streamclan lay still in the bottom of the ditch, blood staining the ground.
