Leah is a sentimental person, she keeps things from friends, things that mean a lot to her.

Her brass fox is her favourite, its head is turned in search of prey, its tail makes it look like it's on the move. It sits on the windowsill in the kitchen, keeping watch over the white gate at the front of the house. The sunlight hits it at an angle and it reflects all around the kitchen, casting an orange glow.

She has a cuckoo clock, a friend bought it back in their home town. From a place of myth and magic. Each time the clock hits the hour, the cuckoo whistles it's little song. It's a comfort to Leah, a reminder of routine. It's helps her ground herself in her surroundings.

A tiny stone, with lines carved into it. The lines are runes, and can't be explained. But her friend gave her this as a promise they would return from their journey, they have yet to take the stone back. It sits on her mantlepiece above the fire. A constant reminder for Leah that her friend has not yet returned.

And lastly her Necklace. A circle with a tree, it's branches attached to the outer ring. It's Leah's guidance in life. Her reassurance. She feels it there all the time. She remembers how she got it and she smiles. And then her smile fades as she remembers how it ended.
