"What do you want Amber?"
"Nothing from you, Jake!" I replied
I whipped my head and walked away.
Jake was my all-time enemy. Well more like everyone's all-time enemy. He just happened to "accidentally" run into me knocking my binders out of my hand. Ha always finds a way to annoy me, or make anyone annoyed.
This is the 7th time this week he has done something to hurt me. Whether it's physical or mental.
"Excuse me?" Said a voice behind me
I slowly turned around expecting it to be Jake again but to my surprise, it wasn't. It was one of the new students. How do I know she's a new student. I have been at this game for 2 years after 2 years you practically know when there is a new guy (or girl in this case).
"Can I help you with something?" I tried to say as sweet as possible. But I probably seemed a little rude when she frowned a little bit.
"Yes, I'm looking for Mrs. Gilmore's room." She replied
And it's just my luck that my first period also happens to be Mrs. Gilmore as well.
"Here let me take you. I have her first period too." My response wasn't the nicest. But after being treated like trash for 5 years you become weary of who you meet.
On our way to math, we talked about electives, stuff about school, about sports. You know the typical, not what most girls talk about.
"Well, here we are!" Interrupting her while she was talking about the soccer game last night between Real Madrid and Barcelona. (Real Madrid is the better team BTW!)
She glared at the poorly decorated door. Then to me then back at the door.
"Is something wrong? I asked
"No, everything is fine" she replied to my question with a hesitation. Probably deciding to tell the truth or not and/or to question me or the room. As she stepped inside I'm pretty sure she was blinded! Mrs. Gilmore may be a math teacher but she is all about don't judge a book by its cover. Every new student is blown away by her highly decorated and bright room! Literally, a student had an idea to put a fan there when people walk in! And she just happened to buy a really strong fan and when you are not ready for it it will literally blow you away!
During math, I couldn't pay attention, which is really surprising for me since I have all A's, all I could think about was that girl. Now that I think about I didn't get her name! It's a Cinderella story, isn't it? She seemed so nice! She didn't even know my name and she acted like we had known each other for like ever! Maybe I could have a friend for once! And lets hope she doesn't find out about my past!
"Amber?" Asked Mrs.Gilmore thinking I have been paying attention and could answer the question.
"Yes ma'am" I unconsciously replied. She waved her hand to the board motioning for me to answer it.
Are you questioning me? And in you as in the reader, not Mrs.Gilmore. Are you having doubts that I can't do the problem because I wasn't paying attention? Are you thinking I can't answer this on my own? Well, of course, I can! We may just be learning Algebra 2 but I have finished Pre-calculus and am working on Calculus.
The answer was
i = 4
Do you know what that means? Well yeah probably!
"Well done" Mrs.Gilmore commented.
"Thank you" I replied.
As I walked back to my seat I saw the new girl stare at me as if I had just said I'm going out on a date! I mean who would ever date me though! After she realized she was staring she gave me a thumbs up and a wink. What was that supposed to mean? That I did a could job or that I didn't do a good job and she winked meaning she was kidding.
During math, science, and cheer everything was just a blur! Until I got to my locker. So before I tell you the rest of the story I want to tell you I have gotten a lot of notes. And by the way, 99% out of 100% were mean, terrible, dangerous, life-threatening notes! So yeah! When I got to my locker I noticed something was jammed in the little vent/ line things. At first, I thought it was some paper that someone shoved into my locker for me to do. So I just left it there and if anyone questioned me I would respond with "I never saw a worksheet." Then they would threaten me and then I would be forced to do it no matter what. So either way, I would end up doing their work anyway. That's the way things are with my life. So I just left that piece of paper alone.
After 4th period was over I went back to my locker and noticed the paper was gone. At first, I thought they took the paper out and gave up on me doing it. But when I opened my locker two folded up prices of paper fell out. Oh so now I know why I didn't see the paper before someone shoved another piece of paper for me to do. Since they were already on the ground I went ahead and picked them up, like the good citizen I am. While I already had them in my hands there is no point in throwing them away. So like any other person would do I opened up the paper to see which class was to "hard" for them to do. But when I opened it up I was surprised to see it started with " Dear Amber," I mean who puts dear (whoever the name of the person is) anymore?
I continued to unfold the note that seemed to be endless. Until I heard a very familiar noise...
THE BELL!! I got so caught up in the notes and my locker that everything around me seemed to fade from view. So since I was now late to Yearbook I would have to go get a pass from the front office and somehow explain how I was late to Mrs. Spinnato's class. I have NEVER been late to anything in my life. This would be so nerve-racking except that I wasn't freaked out because I was too focused on the note. It was still in my hand in fact. I guess when I heard the bell I forgot to put the notes back. As I slowly walked to yearbook class I carefully finished unfolding the paper. Only 4 words were in the note and they were "You are my sunshine!" Unconsciously I began singing the song. You know the
You are my sunshine my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray.
You never know then how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away!
Awwww it's such a cute song! Ugh, what am I thinking?
I'm a sophomore in high school and I'm singing you are my sunshine!
Apparently, I'm a 16-year-old girl in a 5-year-old mind! Yup that sums up me. Nothing else was on the note. Not even a name of who it was from. I then decided to open up the second note. This one had 7 words instead of 4. The words were "Meet me after school under the bleachers."
