Chapter 2
"They don't know you Scarlet." Damon sighed as I sipped on my coffee as we sat on the bridge.
"You haven't mentioned me before?" I frowned as I glanced at him. He shook his head and smirked.
"You should be asking Klaus or Elijah." He marked as I frowned before my face paled.
"No." I muttered in shock as he nodded.
"They stop by every once in a while." He went on as I groaned and felt like falling off the bridge. Our legs hanged over the edge, over the water as he sipped his expresso.
"You know everything in Elena's life comes back in this bridge." Damon muttered with a frown. I raised an eyebrow and smirked.
"Please, don't tell me Mr. Lonely Vampire is whipped."
"I'm not." He replied so quickly as I shrugged and looked back at the view. It felt silent as we sat comfortably on the bridge. Not long after his phone began to ring.
"Hello?" I heard him muttered into the phone as he looked at me.
"On my way." He said and hung up before he turned himself round and hopped off.
"I'll see you 'round." He said waiting for my reply. I sipped my coffee before leaving it on the bridge.
"If you're lucky." I muttered. The air picked up as I turned to see him, but he had disappeared.
"Idiot." I muttered.
Later...
As I walked up my path, I heard footsteps behind me as I turned to see a blonde lassie with Elena.
"Look..." Elena trailed off as I raised an eyebrow.
"I'm sorry for being so judging yesterday. Jeremy and I have just been through a lot and I guess we're just all over the place." Elena apologised as the blondie looked at me with a smile.
"I'm Caroline." She blurred out as I shook her hand and hugged her lightly.
"Scarlet." I introduced myself as I glanced at Elena.
"You're forgiven." I smiled politely as she smiled back.
"Great!" Caroline beamed as she looked at Elena.
"Hey Scarlet, want to join us shopping?" Caroline offered as I shrugged and nodded.
"Sure."
"Is she always like this?" I asked Elena as we watched Caroline take her time, looking at everything.
"Yeah..." She laughed and I laughed too.
"So... how do you know Damon?" She asked as I knew this question was coming at some point.
"I met him decades ago." I answered as she waited for me to continue.
"He was being... well himself and I needed a place."
"Did you sleep with him?"
I almost jumped out my skin as I turned to Caroline who had a shit load of clothes in her hand.
"No." I cringed as she shrugged and walked away.
"So what happened?"
"We hung around for ten years."
"That's it?" She asked. I laughed as I looked at her.
"Yeah, what did you expect?" I asked metaphorically before I left her to join Caroline shopping.
"Caroline..." I muttered once I glanced at a dress.
"Yes?" She asked as I looked at her.
"Do you know Niklaus?" I asked as her face dropped.
"That prat scared my boyfriend away." She sighed as I nodded. She frowned and looked at me.
"Why?"
"No reason." I said before I put the dress out. She frowned but turned away and picked a skirt. I sighed as I leaned against the rack closest. Can I really do this?
After shopping...
I walked up my path as I saw Stephan sitting on my porch step. He stared at me as if I wasn't fully there.
"Why are you here?" He asked as I stood not that far away.
"It's a free world." I fired back as he stood up.
"You being here is going to cause trouble, trouble that we don't need."
I rolled my eyes as I walked near him.
"Oh please Stephan, I'm already digging holes. I'm friends with Elena and her blonde friend, already talked to Damon too." I smirked as Stephan - in a flash flipped me over as I crashed against my porch steps.
"Stay away from them!" He barked before he turned around and walked away. I leaped up and in a flash blocked his exit as I fired punches. Eleven out thirteen missed it the two that got him caused him to stagger back before I leaped and kicked him to the ground.
"Now, now Stephan, let's not make this anymore worse than it already is. Okay?" I leaned down placing my hand on his cheek.
"I'll keep quiet, if you do too." I whisper before I rose back up and stepped over him, walking up my path and steps before unlocking my door and closing it, leaving him on the ground.
I stared the boxes, half of them already unpacked but a few I still had to move as I walked through to my kitchen. Switching on the light, I stopped in my tracks as I glanced at my island in the middle. A letter sat in the middle, neatly placed down, folded as I slowly walked over. I picked up the neatly folded note as I unfolded it.
What are you doing here? ~ Your favourite original vampire.
I frowned as I rolled my eyes. My first thought was Klaus, however I remembered that they both were just as bad as each other when it came to love. I didn't hesitate to rip the the note and bin it before I left the kitchen to my room.
