"Honey, it'll be fine. There'll be people there to help you around," my mom said, as she backed out of the house.

"Ughh, but still! People will think it's weird for me to come in during the fourth week of school!" I complained.

"Cathy, it's not like you're going to die. You'll be fine, they'll understand. Plus, I talked to the principal and he said that someone was going to show you around. It won't be too bad,"

"Mom, how would you know if it's going to be bad or not? You're not the one who's gonna be stared at for 2 weeks!"

My mother gave me a look with her bright blue eyes. I wish I had eyes like hers, instead I got a mixture of blue and grey.

"You need to stop looking at negative things and start looking at the positives," she lectured me, while turning into the school parking lot, "Look at the bright side, you get to have your own car in two weeks,"

"Only reason I got it was because you dragged me here and you felt sorry,"

She sighed and parked the car, "Cathy, please. You know we moved because the jobs over here offered more money,"

"Yeah yeah yeah, you told me millions of times," I sighed while opening the door, "I'll see you later, love you,"

She gave me a small smile, "Love you and be good,"

I climbed out and watched as she drove away.

Great, I thought, time for torture. I entered to find a crowd of people blocking the hallway. I tried squeezing my way through only traveling five steps until I was stuck again. I groaned.

"Hi!" I heard a voice on my left say.

A girl about my height with brunette hair was standing next to me, grinning.

"You must be the new girl. Cathy, right?" she asked.

"Umm yeah," I said hesitantly. If she knows that I'm new here, does that mean everyone else knows I'm new? Perfect.

"I'm May and -"

She was interrupted by a girl shouting.

"He's here! He's here!"

Everyone moved towards the walls of the hallway, making a small path in the middle, and May pulled me along with her.

"What's happening?" I whisper to her.

"Wes," she whispered back, standing up on her tiptoes trying to see over the crowd.

"Who's Wes?" I ask.

I hear gasps and heads turned towards me. I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned around.

A very attractive guy with amazing multi-colored eyes was standing in front of me.

I blushed, "Yes?

He pointed at himself and I gave him a confused look, "Excuse me?"

He chuckled, "I'm Wes, nerd," and he walked away with his friends.

Wait, what? Did he just call me a nerd? He doesn't even know who I am and he starts calling me names?

"Last time I checked, my name was Cathy," I called out to him.

He stopped walking and one of his friends almost tripped over him. He turned around and I smirked.

"Okay, Cathy," he said gave a small smile but then disappeared quickly, "I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. Someones a little hot headed. I would have stayed quiet if I were you,"
