A small hut appeared in the middle of the deserted wasteland of snow as the hatchling followed the mysterious grey dragon. Already the small baby was twice the size she was miraculously revived by the dragon.
"Raa?" She looked over to the large slate dragon, confused as they approached the small cottage, stumbling slightly over a lump of snow, unexpectedly spitting some ice out in surprise, "Raa!"
Stopping, the slate looking dragon smiles at the hatchling, "All is well little one." He noticed the small bit of ice near the baby's foot, "Ah, and you seemed to have discovered one of your new abilities!" He added, "A side effect of that little spell I cast." He watched as the small dragon started to make intricate ice pillars with her breath and whack them down with a long, paddle-like, tail. "You must go now." He puts his palm on her head and mumbles a small chant, then disappears from her view without a trace, leaving only an indent in the snow from where he last stood.
"Raa..?" She called out quietly, scared and cold now that her companion has gone.
Looking toward the cottage down the slope, something made her drawn to it. Cautiously, she crouched through the snow and sniffed at the air, she felt a wave of heat come from a square opening on the side of the shelter and decided to dash for the closed off opening at the front of the cottage.
Growling, she hopped onto her back legs, using her unusually large pair of wings to balance herself. Scratching and yowling over the noises she heard within.
Suddenly, the blockade swung open and a very obviously annoyed blue dragon poked his head out, "Who's there?" The sapphire dragon growled deeply.
Terrified, the hatchling sprung back and let out a pitiful yelp, half wanting to get the attention of the angry dragon. The baby let out a quivering, "Raa?", and shivered from exposure and overall terror.
Ears pricking up, he dropped his head, only to see a sky blue and steel colored, infant staring back at him with wide, scared eyes. After a moment of staring, he recognized the lifeless body he left in the snow fields hours earlier. "It can't be, you were...?" The hatchling gave him a confused look and squeaked a bit, obviously still scared and cold, "Oh, I'm so sorry little one," he extended a huge, taloned, paw. "You can come home now."
She stared at the large paw for a moment and put her own in his. Looking up, she saw a large grin on the sapphire dragon's face and squeaked in delight at his approval.
"Dear, who's out there?" A feminine voice sounded from the cottage.
"You won't believe this, honey." The male slightly gasped, trying to keep his breath and picked up the hatchling. Turning around, he showed the confused hatchling to his mate, "It's a miracle!"
