Princess Ah-Yeon: Un Natural Love

Chapter 1: The Announcement

Ah-Yeons P.O.V.
I am riding my horse as it walks down the pebbled path leading to the Palace of the Baekje Dynasty, the 2nd strongest kingdom after Goryeo, along with a few of the royal guards following behind and with my brother , the 3rd prince Sung Hyeon, Quietly following beside me. We just came from a mission from the Southern Border His Royal Highness ordered us to check on. It was a bit chaotic with a few people that decided on going against us, We could not leave with out a bit of blood being shed. It was a tiresome month for us out there but I am quite used to always being sent on a mission every now and then, I sometimes even wonder, Will I grow old and die serving and fighting for the king and the kingdom, There is more to life for me than just being out on the battle grounds fighting with swords and arrows risking my life not knowing if I can come home alive and in one piece.

"You seem to be thinking so hard about something, mind on tellimg me what it is about?" The 3rd prince(my brother) suddenly asked. "Oh nothing Orabeoni, just a little bit overwhelmed that we finally get to go back and have some proper rest" I said half heartily. "I know *sigh* I hope we don't always get sent out on missions so often it's quite tiring and worrisome sometimes." He said with a loud sigh. I stayed quiet as he continued talking "Doesn't it ever bother you that you've trained for almost half of your life and have been sent into different wars and missions, I mean you are a princess after all you should be in the palace learning the ways of being a princess and possibly a Queen." He asked with full curiosity. "To be honest, I don't mind being in the battlefield I have quite come to love and enjoy being out there, It makes me feel different from other princesses out there, I actually feel free to do what I want with not having a care in the world....Well minus the killing bad guys stuff." We both laughed our hearts out as we talked about the most random things.

About another hour later we finally reached the great palace gates and were greeted by a some of the palace guards and court ladies as they bowed their heads as a sign of respect. Both the 3rd prince and I got off our horses and headed towards the palace. We both directly went ahead to see his Majesty in the throne room. Before opening the grand doors one of the servants announced our presence which we slowly walked into. We both bowed down as we greeted the The King "We are back Pyeha." There was atleast a minute of silence before he finally spoke "I see that you both returned in one piece, and following what I have ordered you to do." We both stayed silent while our heads were still bowed down. "As a reward I won't be sending you both out on missions very much often, Instead I want you to spend some time with your brothers and your sister since you won't be seeing each other for quite sometime." He said with full power and authority. "Pyeha if you don't mind me asking, what do you mean by not seeing eachother for quite sometime?" His Majesty just simply smirked at my brothers question before answering it "That I will talk about tomorrow at the 5th prince's family birthday feast." Now I am getting curious at what he is about to say tomorrow but I do hope it is good news. "If you have no more questions you are now dismissed." He announced  without any expression on his face. We bowed down once more and said "Wei Pyeha." And headed out the throne room.

I removed my armor and went to see my brothers just as what the King requested. I went to the gazebo that we all loved to hangout at as kids luckily I found them all with the 3rd prince arriving shortly after. "Ah-Yeon and Seun-Hyeon is back!" " Oh my favourite sister and brother is finally here!" "Yah! What about me I'm right here you know" "Ah-Yeon where is the bow and arrows that you promised me?" They all greeted us all at once..Haaa I missed this vibe. Seeing that everyone is here 2nd prince Seon Jae, 3rd prince Sung Hyeon, 4th prince Dae Young, 5th prince Yeok and the crown prince Woo Myeon is here which is a plus. They all greeted as at once which made me laugh. "You two are finally here after one long month. The palace has been quite different without you two around." The crown prince said clearly being glad that were here. "Yeah it has been quite a long time since we've seen each other glad to finally be back." Sung Hyeon happily said. "Wei I agree it finally feels good to be back and see my annoying brothers." I jokingly said. "Yah!" They all said which caused me to laugh even more. "What about the bow and arrows that you promised me?" Our youngest brother Yeok said. I can't believe that for a 17 year old boy he has grown into a fine hansome prince despite being the youngest and well...the most childish one. "Oh bow and arrows?...Oh yeah well I totally forgot about it." I teased. "Bwo?! But you promised!" He moped like a child as usual and pouted his lips like a 7 year old boy. "Joking, How could I forget?" I jokingly said and continued. "It's right on your bed inside your quarters." As soon as I said that he went running out the gazebo probably to go to his room to get the present I brought. "How was your trip to the southern borders?" The 2nd prince Seon Jae asked. The 2nd prince is the most mature and the most rational among the six of us he acts as if he is our 2nd father. "Wei give us some news about your long trip." 4th prince Dae Young suggested. Dae Young is probably the most handsome out of the five as others say. Lot's of girls would literally kiss the ground he walks on even young Court Ladies fall for his "hansome" face. "Well it went just fine but some of the workers there decided to go on against us and drew there weapons and attacked us with no apparent reason so we had no choice but to end those who try to commit treason." Sung Hyeon explained "Bwo!? Why would they suddenly do that?" The crown prince was first to react followed by the 2nd prince. "What was their motive in attacking...They clearly knew that attcking would end their lives and accused of treason." "Good thing you two came back safely." 4th prince calmy said. "But I don't think they would attack with out any reason, not to mention they wore a mask and had weird markings around their neck, as if like they were part of a group." I explained further more. "Markings you say? It could be any group possibly from another place." The crown Prince confusingly said. "A spy maybe?" 2nd prince suggested. "Aish! All this thinking is making my head hurt." Sung Hyeon complained. "Same here we should talk about this another time."I agreed I do need to get some rest. "Okay then we will see each other tomorrow." Crown Prince aggread and went ahead. "Speaking of tomorrow we should find Yeok, make sure he doesn't kill any chickens, come now Sung Hyeon kaja." Do Young announced while grabbing the sleeve of the 3rd prince. "Chamkaman, Yah!" Sung Hyeon Protested but was still dragged of by Do Young. "Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow then." Seon Jae said while walking off as I bowed.
Well it's off to bed for me then since it's getting quite late.

*the next day*

It's the day of my brother's family birthday feast. I woke up extra early for this, though the feast is still in the mid afternoon. I dressed up in my favoured black hanbok and went out the quarters door greeted by few of the court ladies as we exchanged bows and greetings. I went ahead to find a specific person, I walked through the palace grounds heading to the place where the head of all court ladies currently resides. I knocked on they heavy wooden door and got a brief "Come in" for an answer. I pushed the doors open revealing a surprised Court Lady Ji Hye. She regained her posture before bowing down and greeted me "Your Highness you're finally back." "Stop it with the " Your Highness" it's just us here." I said as i pulled her in a tight hug. "So how were you for the past month?" I asked still with a big smile plastered on my face. "Everything seems to be fine Princess." She answered hesitantly. I stayed quiet for a few seconds and as I was about to talk she continued "But to be honest Your Highness, people are acting weird, pecifically His Majesty The King." She said as she bowed down her head. "The King? What do you mean " acting weird"?" I asked with full curiosity. She sighed before speaking "His Majesty has not been himself lately, He has been out the palace frequently and seen by the Temple, He would usually stay there for half of the day and sometimes would go out late at night. People who would pass by the temple could hear The King talking to someone but not very sure who, Not to mention The numbers of Royal guards have been raised on patrol day and night." That's weird for sure I know that His Majesty isn't religious at all so why would he go to the Temple? And why raise the number of Royal guards unless he knows something that we don't. "Well that's weird for sure. I will be sure to ask him at the right time about how he's acting lately." We talked the entire morning just as I realized that I'll be late for the family feast. I bid my goodbyes to her and went to where the Royal Family is gathered.

Everyone was already there, My brothers, The King and the 2nd Queen beside him. I went to make my presence known "Pyeha sorry for being late I had some business to attend to." I apologized with a serious tone in my voice. "No you're just in time." He paused for a moment before Continuing "Before we go on with the feast of the 5th prince Yeok I woul like to announce the marrige of Princess Ah Yeon to the Crown Prince of Goryeo and the marrige of the Crown Prince Woo Myeon to the Head court lady Ji Hye. Congratulations on both your marriges."
