"Bella" the teacher calls out
It's finally time to tell my class. I get out of my seat and nervously walk up.
"Hi.. everyone. Until last night I had a whole speech planned about the top seven breeds of dogs in my opinion, but that all changed and I scrap together this speech. for most of you that don't know me I'm Bella Middleton, and this is a small story of why I'm leaving high school" I say
By now I've catched everyone's attention, including my best friends that I still haven't told.
"A few months ago my parents broke up, blah blah blah my dad was on drugs blah blah blah my mum dumped her husband of 20 years right in front of her 12-year-olds face on her third day of high school. We were all torn. I thought I was coping with it for the first few months are keeping to myself that's why I've always been quiet. I eventually got forced into counselling but that doesn't help the hole in my heart. I didn't know whether to believe my dad or my mum, my dad was notorious for lying and emotionally abusing my mum, with my mum on the other hand she was known for only seen things her way and lying to get people to see it her way. My dad did his drugs in the shed, The place I hung out in the most, I breathed in red levelled toxic air for believed to be 2 1/2 years of my life. I got sent to the doctor thinking it would've affected my lungs. And boy did it do damage. The doctor ran some tests and told me he'll get back to me on 25 of August, yesterday. So went there that day, alone and got the results he handed me a piece of paper. I read it not really understanding what he meant. He then said beside me and said these faital three words 'You, Have, Cancer' followed by 'you have three weeks to live'."
By now tears and forming and my friends look at me in disbelief.
"Obviously I'm not spending my last three weeks of life in school so this is my last day here. Thank you for listening to me and remember that that quiet kid in the class that you may have only just noticed now maybe quiet for a reason"
