delilah had assumed that harry booked a hotel room, so when they arrived at a large house right on the beach you can imagine her surprise. she didn't realize that harry had put an enormous amount of thought into this trip because she didn't know when he would have had the time since they were always together.

"what are we doing first?" delilah excitedly clapped her hands together. harry had climbed the many stairs with their few bags and set them on the bedroom floor and smiled at her excitement.

"well, it's 4:30 right now. we have dinner plans at 8, so we have some time to kill. would you like to go down to the beach, darling?"

"okay! i think i'll put some shorts on though," she added before digging through her bag. she quickly changed and tossed her wild hair up and out of her face which made harry pout.

he loved seeing her curls to frame her face and blow in the breeze. he loved how he could pick up the scent of her shampoo when he held her close. he loved her wild hair.

"does it not look good like this?" delilah asked, feeling around her head to search for any hair she missed or bumps.

"no, it's not that. you look beautiful, like always. i just..i love when your hair is down," he smiled.

she chuckled lightly before pulling the elastic out of her curls and letting them fall down her shoulders. "if you want the lion mane, you got it."

hand in hand, they walked to the beach and delilah was so happy. she was in awe at the vastness of the sea and the tiny grains of sand that spread for miles. she squeezed harry's hand tighter without realizing, and he looked at her as they stood to admire the view. he saw her eyes flash with emotions he couldn't decipher and found himself more curious with the mystery in her eyes than the mystery of the ocean in front of him.

she had a tight grip on his hand while a smile broke out onto her lips and serenity filled her heart. when she looked up at harry, he was already staring at her and was glad that she had a large smile.

"i can't thank you enough for this, harry," delilah's arms wove around harry's torso as her head rested on his chest. he embraced her with his warmth and love, placing gentle kisses to the top of her head.

he wanted to say it so badly.

i love you. i love you. i love you.

the ocean breeze was coaxing harry's soul, eager to capture the words that had been lodged in his heart, too timid to see the light of day. the feelings were strong, but the words were weak. there was no way he would be able to express his love through three words, and instead forbid them to slip through his bitten lips until he could find the right words to profess his true ardor for the brown eyed girl with wild hair and a deep love for knowledge. passion was intense between the two, but the breeze left empty handed.

"i'm starving! are we almost there?" delilah whined as harry continued the steady drive to dinner.
