New Doctor

Its the day after Jac and Jonny's "NHS meeting" and they have just dropped Emma off at the crèche.

"Busy day today?" asked Jonny.

"Just a few routine cases, the usual" replied Jac. Jonny smirked and nodded his head. "What?" said Jac.

"Well... I was just, you know, wondering if you were available for a quick drink after work, and then head home for a bit of Netflix and chill"

"Netflix and what?" asked Jac with a very puzzled face.

"Oh I can just show you..." Jac laughed at Jonny's attempt to be sexy.

As they approached Jac's office they met with Mr Hanssen.

"Ah Jac, could we have a word in private?"

"Yes, come in," Jac said waving goodbye to Jonny.

"We have a new doctor starting today. His name is Joseph Byrne and he is a registrar but has previously been a GP,"

Jac gasped.

"Is everything OK?" asked Hanssen.

"Yes, I just, uh, I'm very busy so if you don't mind..." said Jac. Mr Hanssen left the office, slightly curious from the way Jac had reacted.

Jac fell back onto her sofa in shock. She couldn't believe that after all this time Joseph had returned.

All of a sudden Joseph burst through the door in a pair of dark blue scrubs that were clearly to tight. "So what do you think? Just like old times eh?" said Joseph as he spun around in front of Jac.

"I'd say a little tight but I have some spares in my cupboard"

"Oh wow thanks Jac!"

"There you go," Jac said as she handed him the scrubs.

"Um, you wouldn't mind if I just slip them on in here would you?"

"Who am I to stop you," said Jac with a smirk on her face.

"Haha, ok"

Joseph took off the top of the scrubs he was already wearing and he revealed his six-pack to Jac.

"I've missed you so much," said Jac as she slowly moved towards Joseph.

"Leaving this place, leaving you was the worst decision I ever made, and if I could turn back time I would," Joseph placed his hands on Jac's face and kissed her.

"What about Sophia?!" asked Jac, pulling back from Joseph.

"I thought that she was the one, but seeing you again, I was clearly wrong," Jac smiled and kissed him again.

"Wait but, your child!" she said, pulling back once more.

Joseph sighed and said "It's not mine,"

"What?!?!"

"It's her ex's, we've only been together for 4 months,"

"And you're OK with that?"

"Well at the time, I was madly in love with her and I didn't really care about whose baby it was!"

"So do you have anymore kids, apart from Harry?" asked Jac.

"Nope, you?"

"Um, I have a daughter, Emma"

"Oh wow congratulations Jac, how old is she?"

"Four years old"

"Are you still, with her father?"

"Oh no! That ended ages ago, he's out of the picture now!" said Jac, lying to make Joseph happy.

"So you're single?"

"Yes, single, but an independent woman!" said Jac with pride.

"I'm sure you are! Jac I've missed you and I want us to start over. I love you, and I've never felt this way about anyone else but you,"

"When you left, I really struggled to keep myself together. I felt that something was missing, and now, I've found it," said Jac.

"Come home with me,"

"What, no I can't!"

"Me and Sophia don't even live together and I want to spend every minute with you Jac,"

"OK but I'll have to tell Emma's dad to look after her tonight,"

"Yes of course,"

Jac smiled. She hadn't been this happy since Emma was born. Little did she know what would happen that night...
