Chapter 3

A week after what happened to Karylle and me, I went straight to the airport and booked a flight to Spain. I don't know why I'm doing this. Maybe its just that I'm afraid of facing what I've done. I know that this is so wrong but I have to do this for myself. I hope that Karylle will forgive me someday.

April 23, 2015 - Barcelona, Spain

It's 5 in the afternoon and I went straight to the bank to get some money for me to find a house. As soon as I got to the bank, I went to the ATM machine. I inserted my card and checked my savings account. And I was so surprised to find out that I have zero balance. I checked my other accounts and they have zero balance too. One thing entered my mind. My family knew about this and they closed all of my accounts. Shit.

I tried to call some of my friends and I'm glad that Billy answered my call.

"Oh goodness! Thank God you answered." I said through the phone.

"Vice nasaan ka?" Billy asked.

"Billy you don't have to know." I said.

"Nasaan ka nga?" sagot nito sa akin.

"Keep that thought. Can you just help me?" I said.

"Help you with what?" he answered.

"I got zero balance in all of my accounts!" I said.

"Oh." he replied.

I know Billy knows something. "May alam ka ba?" sabi ko.

"Alam saan?" sagot naman nito.

"Dito sa accounts ko?" sabi ko.

"Huh? Wala!" sabi nito.

"Billy stop playing games with me!" I shouted.

"Bakit Vice? Kasalanan ko bang tumakas ka sa ginawa mo?" he shouted in renturn.

"How'd you know?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"Pumunta si Karylle sa akin at nagpatulong sabihin sa mga magulang mo!" Billy said. "Now tell me? Kasalanan ko bang tumakas ka at ipasara ng nanay at tatay mo lahat ng bank accounts mo?" he added and ended the call.

What now? Ugh. I know this is my fault pero paninindigan ko 'tong ginawa ko. I called another number.

"Hello."

"Hello? Sino 'to?"

"Si Vice."

"Vice? Oh Vice! Bakit ka napatawag?"

"Hingi lang sana ako ng tulong."

"Tulong saan?"

I paused for a while. "Tulong sa pera."

Tumawa naman ang kausap ko sa telepono. "Are you kidding me, Vice? Eh mas mayaman ka pa sa akin!" sabi nito at tumawa ulit.

"No Liz, I'm serious." I said.

"Weh?" sabi pa nito.

"Oo nga! I'm serious!" I said.

"Ano bang nangyari?" she asked.

I told her the whole story. I told her what Karylle and I did. I told her about sa pagtakas ko papunta dito sa Spain. I'm glad kasi naintindihan niya ako. Si Liz lang talaga ang makakatulong sakin. And I thank her for that.

8:00 pm

After a few hours dumating na din sa wakas yung hinihingi ko kay Liz. Ang sakit na ng pwet ko sa kakahintay. Tumawag naman ako ulit sa kanya to thank her.
