Jacob is 21, he lost his parents two years ago and has no siblings and if he could have a power he would like to fly to get away from everything. I recap our conversation in my head.
"What about you?" He asks, getting a bit less timid around me. I stare at him, a bit shocked at how he didn't stutter.
"W-Well..." I start. "I had a family and friends once and I would smile at the smallest things but all that changed when I turned ten..." I look back at the road, my hands gripping slightly tighter around the wheel.
"I first got my powers then and every one was there when I couldn't control them. My family kicked me onto the street, my friends wanted nothing more to do with me and the only person who kept contact with me was my cousin. When I was kicked out I changed." I stop as I stop the car outside of an empty looking diner, the Villian Burger.
"Where do you live? We need to go there and get some things like clothes for you, food, maybe money if you have it." I explain as I quickly turn the ice into water and drop it into the gutter in one swift move of my hand. He nods, tells me the address and follows me into the diner.
The small diner just outside the city has red leather booths lining the pale yellow walls and a cream coloured counter in front of you as you walk in. It kinda looks like a 70's malt shop from the movies.
"Hey Cindy." I greet the lady behind the counter. The blonde lifts her curled hair out of her bright blue eyes to look at us.
How does she pull off the 70's pin up girl look?! The regular thought comes to mind as she gives us a wave and reaches for a button under the counter.
I walk to the booth to the right of the counter as it slides into the wall leaving a fairly large circular hole in the floor. I wait standing near the hole and Jacob stands next to me in supprise, shock and curiosity. Just as he is about to get closer to look down the hole, a clear glass cylindrical elevator rimed with gold pops out at top speed. Jacob jumps back in suprise and the doors open slowly. I get in and stand there waiting for Jacob to follow.
He hesitantly steps onto the clear but sturdy glass floor looking down in wonder, probably noticing that there's no equipment to hold us up. I touch the side of the elevator next to me and a touch screen pops up with two selections; Business or Other.
"Where are we going?" He asks finally. I smirk and turn to him as I push Other.
"To the one place in the world where Super Heroes and Super Villains get along without grudges." I turn back to the touch screen and touch a few more options before we speed off to the floor I call home along with Superman and Ironman.
