Hey there. I haven't updated in a while.. sorry about that! But, to make up for it, I wrote a story which was supposed to be pretty short, but I guess that didn't go as planned lol
I'm not sure if this one is any good, because I'll be honest, I did not look over it, and I started it a while ago. Hopefully it's good. Fingers crossed.Warnings: None. This is fluff!
It was Christmas Eve, meaning the Gryffindors were holding a Christmas party in the common room. Lily, Peter, and Remus had decorated the room with red and green. Lights were strung all around as music played, and everyone was wearing their favorite ugly Christmas sweater. Except for Sirius ("Oh, no, Sirius Black does not wear anything 'ugly.'").
James and Sirius, of course, were the life of the party. Sirius convinced James to wear reindeer antlers ("C'mon, Prongs! No one will even suspect a thing!"), confusing everyone whenever the Marauders laughed at him.The snow outside seemed to be making the already lit room brighter. Cookies were being passed out by Peter, as Lily talked to James in the far corner of the room. Sirius, now alone, looked around for Remus.
Remus was sitting on the sofa having a conversation with Frank and Alice, a cup of punch in hand. Sirius looked over as he animatedly spoke with Frank and Alice until he noticed him staring. Sirius gave a wave to let him know he was coming over, which lead to Remus smiling and waving back.
Sirius made his way over to the sofa where Remus sat, and gave him a small smile. "Hey Moony," Sirius said and then turned to the other two. "Hey Alice. Frank."
"Oh, we'll leave you two be," Alice stated after smiling at Sirius. Remus tried to tell them it was alright, but they insisted they should go. As they got up and turned to leave, Sirius could've sworn he saw them winking at him.
Sirius sat in the couple's previous spot and stretched out his arms. "Enjoying the party, Moony?"
"Yeah," he stated, but there was some doubt in his voice. "Parties were never really my thing."
"I've noticed." There was a pause. "Maybe I can change that." Sirius took the cup in Remus's hand, and placed it on the small coffee table in front of the couch.
"What do you mean?" Remus questioned, but before he got an answer, Sirius quickly stood up and pulled Remus up along with him.
"Let's give you some good party experiences."
Before Remus could respond, Sirius dragged him to the middle of the room.
"Padfoot, what are you-"
"Dance with me," Sirius held out his hand and winked as he smirked. An upbeat song was playing in the background, and Sirius was determined to show Remus that parties could be fun, just enough for him to have a fun time.
Remus blinked. "Dance with you? Sirius, you know I don't dance."
"Which makes it even more special that you do it with me," Sirius was still smirking, yet Remus still looked unsure. "C'mon, Moony, don't make me use my puppy-dog eyes."
Remus chuckled a bit at that comment, and finally gave in. "Ok, ok, fine, but only this once."
"Great!" As soon their conversation ended, Sirius got to work. He quickly twirled a startled Remus, and moved his feet to the rhythm as Remus started to do the same. They danced for what seemed like hours, but was merely minutes. Mostly everyone in the room watched them.
After their ten minute dance session, the two of them made their way to the food table, laughing. Unknowingly, they were holding hands. As soon as they reached the table, Sirius noticed that Remus's hand was in his, and vice versa. He didn't move, but he looked up to see Remus's reaction. He didn't move either. He looked a bit shocked, but his face was red. Sirius just now noticed that his face was burning up as well.
"Well Moony, enjoying the party now?" Sirius asked, a bit nervous to hear his answer.
"Actually," Remus averted his eyes for a second, but then quickly returned his gaze to Sirius. "Yes, I am."
Sirius was about to speak until he saw James rushing up to them behind Remus. Remus turned his head to see what Sirius had been glancing at. Once James had caught up to them, he immediately started talking. "Moony, I didn't know you dance!"
"I don't. Well, I never used to. Not in public. Now..." Remus didn't finish his sentence, but Sirius had hoped he meant that he would dance with him more often. Every second he spent with him made his heart race with happiness.
James looked down, "Oh," he smirked and waggled his eyebrows, "I see. You guys are holding hands. You're having a moment. I'll be off, then!" James started walking away, yet he still kept his eyes on them for a couple of seconds. Then he continued walking, head looking straight in front of him.
There was silence between the two. Nothing but tension in the air. Sirius's face somehow grew hotter.
"Did I just leave Sirius Black speechless?" Remus smirked and raised an eyebrow.
"Don't get used to it, Moony. I always have much to say." Sirius saw James quickly running back towards them.
"By the way," he panted, "You two are standing under a mistletoe." Then, he ran off.
Sirius quickly looked up to see that there was, indeed, a mistletoe between the two. When Sirius looked back at Remus, he had just looked back down from the mistletoe and couldn't hide a look of shock, but also delight on his face. His face turned a deeper shade of red.
"Well, Sirius," Remus spoke quietly. "Do you much to say now?" He inched closer to Sirius.
"Yes, actually," Sirius stepped in and closed the gap between the two.
"What is it?" Remus gently wiped some hair away from Sirius's face and stared into his eyes.
Sirius cupped his face. "I can tell you definitely have a good party experience now."
They kissed, and Sirius's heart nearly leaped out of his chest. Sirius didn't want to pull away, and he hoped Remus felt the same. However, due to the fact that you can't spend your whole life kissing someone, they separated. Sirius immediately missed the feeling.
He stuck his hand out for Remus to take hold of, and he did, a huge grin on his face. Once again, Sirius dragged Remus to the middle of the room to dance with him for the rest of the night.
So, was it good? I wrote a fluffy chapter to soften the blow of the previous one. It's just easy to write angsty chapters with this ship, you know?
