Chapter One : I am

Leyanne Grace Moralle's

It's really relaxing when you are at a cafe. The aroma of the coffee and the smell of old books tingles my body, it gives me soothing feeling especially when I came here to write.

" One Frappe coffee for Ms. Leyanne. " tawag ng barista sa pangalan ko. I immediately raise my hand and gave him a smile when he saw me sitting at my usual spot near the bookshelves.

" Napapadalas ulit ang punta nyo dito sa cafe ah? " ani nya nang makalapit sya sa akin at inabot ang aking kape.
" Di na ulit ako busy sa school eh, kaya dito muna ako. Ayaw mo bang makita ang mukha ko, Chris? " I gave him a grin as I teased him.
" Naku Leyanne, di akong magsasawa sa mukhang yan. Medyo lang. " umasim ang mukha ko sa sinabi nya at sinuntok ko sya ng mahina sa braso.
" Bumalik ka na nga dun bago ko pa wasakin tong cafe mo. " pagsusungit ko. Tumatawang bumalik sya sa counter para asikasuhin ang iba nyang customers. Kaunti pa lang ang tao dito dahil mas marami ang may pasok sa afternoon schedule ng school namin na malapit lang dito.

I blew my coffee before taking a sip from it, then putting it down on my table. The tapping sounds from my laptop was the only noise I heard despite of the noise from the people chattering and the noise from the machines on the counter. I was once again on my own world.

After a few hours, I decided to bid my farewell to Chris as I exit the cafe to walk back to the campus. Mercado-Santos Int'l School, and I'll be attending my last class for the day. It was a start of a new semester.

As I was walking, I saw familiar faces down the corridor where I can hear my class starting. What are they doing here?

" Ezra? Seph? Lex and Nex? " nagtatakang tanong ko sa mga nasa harap ko. Dahan-dahan naman silang tumingin kung saan ako naroroon na dahilan ng paglaki ng mata nila. One thing's for sure, they weren't expecting to see me here.

" Leyanne?/ Ley!? / YANNIE?? " sigaw nila sa akin.
" What's going on? Anong ginagawa ny-- " bago ko pa matapos ang tanong ko ay agad akong niyakap ng kambal at pati ni Seph.
" NAMISS KA NAMIN! " sabay-sabay na ani ng tatlo. I looked at Ezra and he was smiling at me.

" What's this commotion? Ms. Moralle? Who are these people? " napabitaw sila sa yakap at nagbow sa prof ko na galit na galit.
" Ms. Moralle? Go inside before I mark your grades with a 5. " I obey. Sino ba naman ang gustong bumagsak di ba? Not me. Nagsitinginan ang mga kaklase ko sa akin sa pagpasok ko, di ko na lang pinansin ang bulong-bulungan nila at agad na akong pumunta sa upuan ko. It was at the back, nasa dulo ako para malapit sa exit at sa bintana. Nanatili akong nakatingin sa labas kaya di ko na pinansin ang nangyayari sa unahan.

" Joseph Crux~ Please be nice to me~ " then I'm guessing he winked 'cause it caused the girls to go wild.
" Ezra Grey Bautista. "
" Nexus Kei and -- "
" Lexus Kyo Sato! "
" HELLO SA INYO! " sabay na sigaw ng kambal.
" Hmmm.. okay, you may seat-- " Ms. Klaire was interrupted by Ezra.
" Can we seat near Ms. Moralle? " that cause me to look at them. I gave them my look saying NO, but they ignored it.

" My gosh. Bakit nila tatabihan yang freak geek na yan? " girl 1
" I was also asking the same question. " girl 2
" May tinatagong landi pala tong nerd na to. " girl 1

Niyuko ko ang ulo ko nang marinig ko ang mga bulong nila. It was hard to breathe, especially when everyone in the class was looking at you, no. They were judging me.
" Sure. Just don't cause any noise during my class. "
" Uhmm. Miss? " Nexus
" Yes? Meron pa ba kayong demand? " she raised an eyebrow.
" Meron pa pong isang nagtransfer, kasama po namin siya. Di lang po nakapasok ngayon kasi may family emergency po. " Ezra
" What's his name so I can write him down? "

" Aquilo Jiovanni Reed " sabay na sambit ko sa kanila. I looked at them straight through their eyes asking them why. As they went to their seats, they looked sorry at me. I didn't talk to them throughout the class and as it ended. I went straight to the exit and run. I ran as fast as I could. Tumingin ako sa likod ko at nakita kong hinahabol nila ako. Nang makalabas ako sa gate, I hailed a taxi and got away.

Why?

After all these years...

I don't want to assume things but bakit ngayon lang? Bakit ngayon lang niya ako hinanap?

I am...

So confused..
