Episode One: Baby Blues

"Aren't you just adorable!" Sassy Saddles cooed, pressing her muzzle affectionately against the yellow mare she cradled.

The baby giggled softly, she poked Sassy Saddles playfully with her hoof. Sassy Saddles eyes softened, and she gently set the baby on the floor. The baby wriggled out of the blankets and ran over to her blocks, stretching her tiny wings.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Sassy Saddles cast a swift glance to the baby, then continued and opened the door.

"Hi, what-" Sassy Saddles looked up from the doorknob and stopped midsentence.

"I'd like to see my child, if you may." A yellow pegasus colt said, stepping forward.

Sassy Saddles eyes darkened. She attempted to close the door, but the colt placed his hoof in the doorway. Sassy Saddles expression turned sour.

"Leave at once. You'll never see my child, no matter what you say." Sassy Saddles said angrily, her nostrils flared.

"The baby is my child too! Now let me IN!" The colt snapped, trying to peek into the house, but Sassy Saddles blocked his view.

"No, Darrin. You had your chance for a wife, but instead, you treated me horribly. Honey Drop is my child, not yours ANYMORE." Sassy Saddles yelled, then slammed the door in Darrin's face.

For a while, Darrin still knocked on the door, then finally, he left. Sassy Saddles sighed, slamming her head on the door. Her golden amber mane bounced as she trotted back to her daughter, who was still throwing the blocks.

"Time for bed, Honey Drop." Sassy Saddles said, picking the baby up with her yellow glowing magic.

Honey Drop squealed in glee as she was swept into the air, flinging her hoofs forward. Sassy Saddles smiled slightly, then walked into the baby room. A crib sat in the middle of the room, and Sassy Saddles set Honey Drop down in the crib. Honey Drop smiled faltered, and tears brimmed her eyes.

"No, no, sweetie! I'm going to sing the lullaby!" Sassy Saddles gasped, running forward to comfort the little mare.

It was too late. Honey Drop's lip trembled, and soon, she burst into tears, her wails echoing throughout the house. Sassy Saddles sighed in defeat, then walked over to the rocking chair. Ignoring the wails, she used her magic to twist a crank on the small carousel on the small table. Soft music began to play.

"Don't cry, my dear, mommy is always here." Sassy Saddles murmured, using her magic to lay the blanket over Honey Drop.

Honey Drop's wails had subsided, and now she was laying in the crib silently.

"Are you asleep already?" Sassy Saddles got out of her chair to investigate.

"You are asleep!" Sassy Saddles said in surprise, leaning over the crib, then kissed her forehead softly. "Sleep well."

She left the room with a smile.

Up in Cloudsdale, a house bustled with activity. 

"Wind, come quick!" A white mare with an ocean blue mane and magenta eyes called, sitting next to a baby colt in excitement.

"What is it, Wavina?" A light blue colt with a white mane and green eyes walked in the room, his eyes resting on the mare.

"Flip said his FIRST WORD!!!!!" Wavina was trembling with excitement, and picked up the baby.

"Really? Let's hear it!" Wind Current bent down, looking at his son in interest and happiness.

The baby simply blinked at him, then poked his muzzle.

"Go on, Flip Wing." Wind Current urged Flip Wing, eagerly looking at him.

"Play!" Flip Wing giggled, stumbling on his word a bit.

"What's going on?" A mare poked her head into the room, looking at her parents and her baby brother.

The mare had a white coat, and flaming red hair that was pulled up into a high ponytail, though her bangs hung loose. She also had magenta eyes like Wavina. She walked into the room, then sat next to Wavina.

"Hello, Flamelle!" Wavina greeted her daughter, then turned back to Flip Wing. "Flip Wing just said his first word!"

"OOOOO!!!!!" Flamelle gasped, her pupils widening rapidly.
