I followed behind him. He walked into the living room while I followed the sound of crying to a bedroom. I swung open the door and almost stopped breathing at the horrendous sight.
What I saw before me was truly indescribable. I felt time ultimately slow to a stop and freeze before I snapped out of it.
"Stop," I yelled.
Blood. Blood was splattered along the walls and covered every surface including the boy and man. A body laid crumpled in the corner. A mop of similar brown hair to the boy's covered the face. Blood poured around the body. I cut my eyes back to the man who held the young boy by his collar. I noticed the lower half of the child was bare. He held him up in the air, fist raised. The boy was drenched in blood. His small glasses lay on the floor crushed into a small pile. His eyes were closed.
"Mack," I whispered going farther into the room and yanking the boy out of the man's startled hands.
"You fücking bitch," he growls out at me as I gently throw Mack out the door and slam it shut.
The man lunges for me. I dodge his jump and lock the door. He starts to stalk towards me as I back up into a corner. Fücking hell Olive, now what? I thought to myself.
I watched him sneer as I spoke, "Who the hell do you think you are hurting an innocent child?"
"Innocent," he scoffed placing his hands around either side of me caging me in.
"You heard correctly. Innocent." I gritted out as he placed his body tightly against mine.
We were nose to nose, and I felt his breath fan my face when he spoke, "There is nothing innocent about that damn boy. I can do what I want to my nephew. Now who the hell are you?"
"Olive," I seethed shoving the man who stumbled back at my redound strength.
"Why that's a pretty little name you have." He said smirking before slapping me.
I grabbed my stinging cheek but before I could reply banging sound. We both whipped are heads to the door.
"Tesoro," Vince called through the door, "Open up. Let me in now."
"Aww is that your boyfriend? Can you not handle yourself?" The man said grinning evilly.
"Fück off," I said to the man before yelling at Vince to do the same.
"Tesoro," he pleaded.
"Bring Mack to the pack doctor. I'll be there after I clean up some trash," I said glaring at the man.
"I'm not leaving," Vince yelled as the man took a few steps closer before punching me in the face.
"Go now," I yelled as my voice filled with authority.
I heard Vince sigh and the front door close. I turn back to the man who looked bored staring at his nails that we caked in blood.
"You motherfücker," I yelled lunging at him.
Soon we were rolling on the floor punches and kicks being thrown everywhere. He landed good ones as did I.
After the tussle occurred, I had the man knocked out. He was badly wounded. I grabbed onto his shirt and dragged him out the house. I found a tree and tied him to the tree. I would come back for him in a bit. I ran back into the house.
I went back into the room to the figure in the corner. His mother. I sighed trying to find a pulse and turning up short. I slid my hands underneath her and placed her onto the bed. I pulled the covers up over her. I walked out the house wincing when I ran into the door. He landed some hits. I knew I'd have a black eye for sure, bruised sides, and scabs on my arms from his claws.
