Chapter 2 finding love on the net
The second day of school was much better then the first. There was a definite, cracking energy in the air that had been seriously lacking the day before. One of the reasons for the turnaround was teh anticipated arrival of that year's exchange student. According to a reliable student worker at the main office, Chris Kirkpatrick's flight from Penn. had landed safely two days earlier at the Orlando Airport. After a day of rest to recorer from jet lag, Chris was expected to begin his studies, effective immediately.
With the way everyone was acting, you'd have thought we were expecting royalty. Nearly all the girls at school were decked out in their most eye-catching clothes, and most of teh guys had put on there coolest attitudes. No one had even met Chris yet, and already everyone wanted to be his buddy or his boyfriend. I was not impreesed. But there were advantages to all of the pageacty. Frist of all there was no line in the blue and white lunchroom. While everyone else was waiting for Chris to arrive Leigh and I had got our lunch and decided to go out back and eat were no one was around.
About 30 minutes later we got done eating and started walking back to our computer room were we seen Mandy waiting on us. "Why arent you outsides with everyone else??" Leigh asks. "He hasnt shown up yet and I didnt fill like waiting on him maybe he is a total dweed" Mandy made us laugh. "Yea maybe let's go check out emails" I said to the two girls. We all walked in and sat down at our computer. I checked and there wasn't any messages for me so I looked over at Leigh and she nodded no that she didnt have any messages then we turned to see Mandy looking wide eyed and was happy.
"So how many dates did you get??" I asked.
"About five" Mandy replied.
"Your kidding right??" Leigh asked.
"No im not come and look" Mandy said. Leigh and I got up and went to her computer and sure enough she had five dates. I was so totally surprised I didnt expect that to happen. "Nica?? what are you doing after school??" Mandy asked me. "Nothing why??" I asked. "Well I need a huge favor from you" I looked at her weird I didnt know what to say but I went along with her. "What is it??" I asked. "I need you to come to the Bluemoon I emailed all the guys and told them to meet me at different times" She replied. "What if you dont like any of them??" I asked. "Then I wont show up but if I like one of them ill show up and meet him" Mandy smiled. I agreed and we did exactly that.
Mandy and I had went to the bluemoon that day and she found one of the guys that she liked so I told her to go for it and she did. Who would have thought it would have been some guy that she thought was a total hunk?? After she left with the guy I called Leigh and we both went over to my house and just hung out for the rest of the day
