story of my life...

The New Dog

We went to the pet store, there were a lot of dogs and i didn't know witch one to pick. I looked at this one puppy and saw how sad he was, i pointed to him. My mom asked if I wanted that one, I didn't talk but I shock my head yes.  she looked at it and said "that one looks to sad, lets get this one." I screamed "NO" and i pointed to the dog again. She looked at me then the dog and said "alright" I was so happy I had a smile on my face all day. 

My uncle looked at me and asked what I was gonna name my dog, I looked at him and then at the dog, I looked at him for about ten minutes and said Max. As I said his new name he looked at me then barked. My mom loved that name and smiled at me. 

*TEN YEARS LATER*

I'm thirteen years old. My mom has a new boyfriend and I hate him, his son Josh is so rude, and expects me to call him dad, (like really you are so not my dad and never will be.)  So now my life is gonna be a mess then what it already was. It was the first day of eighth grade, I felt sick but I knew I was just nervous. I get to class and the first thing I see is Maddie Lender,  she has ALWAYS hated me. I sit down as she looks at me, she notices that I didn't say hi.(remember I haven't talked to anyone since my dad died when I was three.) She walks over and looks at my shoes, she laughs and says "nice shoes you idiot" I just looked at her like she could of came up with a lot more mean names, but she couldn't.

As that class ends I had five people come up to me and told I was really pretty and that they wanted to be friends. I smile and shake my head, they ask why I don't talk, so I talked and told them the story about my dad. They all felt bad for me, i asked if they wanted to come over after school to study for the math test tomorrow, they all smiled and said sure. I texted my mom at lunch to see if it was alright and she was excited that I made friends and that I am talking again, I haven't talked in ten years. When we got to my house i asked any of them if they were scared of allergic to dogs, none of them were so I let them in, max comes running to the door. I give him a big hug, and asked have you been a good boy? He barks at me and puts his butt in the air. My friends laugh and we go into my room, i text my mom to let her know I am home because she is at work. 

Instead of working we talk about who we like and why we like them.. I went last because I am shy on talking, it finally came to me on who I like. "Sam Harvey" I said, they looked at me like I was crazy, Sue one of my friends said "you like your best friend?!" I looked at all of them and said yeah, he's funny, cute,kind, and he knows how to make me smile.. They look at me and laugh, I put my head down knowing I don't have a chance with him again he is my BEST friend. they look at me and tell me sorry for laughing, I tell them its okay and I know I don't have a chance with him. We all decided to tell each others crush that so and so likes them, I told them that I had Sam Harvey's phone number, so Lucy (another friend) took my phone and CALLED him. 

him and Lucy talked the first thing she said was "Hey it's Lucy uh did you know that Rebecca likes you?" He was shocked at first but then told her that he  likes me to Lucy put me on the phone and I talked to him, I put it on speaker so the other girls can hear it to, first he asked if I was single. I told him yes, he asked if I had a date to the dance and I told him no I don't. he laughed and said "Would you go to the dance with me?" I smiled and said yeah. I hung up the phone and freaked out because he is my crush and I never knew my own best friend/crush would like me back. 

Ally asked if I could stay the night at her house tonight, I texted my mom to ask, she didn't mind so i packed my clothes and what I am going to wear to the dance.

We walk to Ally's house as everyone else goes there different ways. As we are walking I realized that Ally lives right next door to Sam, Sam comes out to take out the trash and he sees us walking. we stopped to talk to him, he looked at me and smiled 

"Hey Rebecca, uh.. Um.. I wanted to tell u this at the dance but would you be my girlfriend?" I looked at Ally and smiled I told him yes! His mom looked out the window and got mad because he was talking to two girls (his mom is over protective.) His mom came out and yelled for him to go back inside, I told him I would text him. Ally and I started to walk to her house, we walked in and her cat came to her and rubbed on her legs, I kept sneezing I called my mom and asked if I allergic to cats, she said not that i know of why? I sneezed again and my eyes started to get itchy. my mom hurried to Ally's so she could give me medicine. We went to Ally's room and she felt really bad for what happened, I told her it was fine. the next day we go out for breakfast. Then we went shopping for new dresses for the dance tonight. We got the same color dress just different kind of dress. 

We get to the dance and I knew Sam would LOVE my dress, even though I'm only in eighth grade I went all out just for one little event. He showed up with a DIFFERENT girl, I went up to him and ask what was going on.  He looks at me and tells me that I look beautiful, I noticed that the girl he brought is Helen Brown, she is such a jerk always has been scene sixth grade. I asked him if our relationship meant anything, he giggled and looked at Helen. I had a really sad look on my face knowing he never liked and and he never wanted to be my best friend. Him and Helen both started laughing, I ran to the bathroom crying knowing no one will ever get me like Sam did, "I told him everything. I told him my hole life, he sat down and listened. I bet he told that girl you call Helen everything, my dad dying, having to move my step dad trying to be my dad... EVERYTHING THAT HAS GONE WRONG IN MY LIFE, AND NOW I BET SHE IS GONNA TELL EVERYONE WHO I LIKE!!!!" I said yelling and crying in the bathroom. One of my teachers come in asking if I'm okay, I'm never okay. But I told her I was fine, It was just a guy problem. 

The teacher gave me a big pep talk and told me everything was going to be alright, I got up and I looked in the morrow and saw my makeup running down my read puffy cheeks. I cleaned myself up and luckily the teacher had her makeup bag with her. she fixed my makeup, and I went back out to the dance, I had Ally with me so I was fine I had nothing to worry about. I saw the rest of my friends they all looked amazing, after the dance and it was time for the formal kind and queen. I had forgotten that I signed up for queen, I look at Ally as I knew I forgot I go to the stage knowing I'm not gonna get formal queen. 

They called the guys first.

Principle:"AND FORMAL KING IS........Charlie Karson!" He yelled as everyone was shocked. 

then went the girls.

Councilor:"AND FORMAL QUEEN IS.......Rebecca Jones!" I looked at Ally shocked, I won? but, but how? 

I thought I dropped out... I was so in shock, after the dance we went out fore ice cream and my mom took me and my friends to the movies, That was the best night of my life, but right as we pulled the drive way of Ally's house i started to cry because my dad wasn't here to see me. 

My mom looks at me and says "he sees everything I do, he would be so proud of you that I had won queen, he might nit be here on earth but he is in a better place and he watches over you making sure you are safe."  I smile, as I knew he was still with me. he might not be with me in person but he is in my heart and I know I would never forget all the fun I had with him when I was younger.
