Outside POV

Bethany, Isaac, and Cierra stood in front of a metal container. It was somewhat large, able to contain 2 adults in there comfortably. It had a door that swung open but only contained a single button inside. Cierra looks over at Bethany proud. Sure it took them 2 weeks and a lot of confusion but they eventually got the machine done.

"Alright. Are we going to be doing this or not? Our friends can be in some serious danger right now." Isaac says, turning to the two.

The two sisters give a confident nod at him ready for what comes next. Isaac gestures for them to go in and they do as he says. He enters with them and watches as Bethany's hand hovers over the button with a sudden loss of confidence.

"What is it, Bethany? We have gone over the calculations together a thousand times. Nothing can go wrong at this point." Cierra says, making a face.

Bethany sighs, trying to calm her nerves. Although her efforts are in vain as her hand still shakes nervously over the button.

"It's just that I haven't seen Jordan in so long and..."

"You are nervous about seeing him again because he might not be the same." Isaac finishes for Bethany who only nods.

Cierra puts her hand on Bethany's shoulder, making sure not to elbow Isaac or anything.

"He is our brother. He still cares just as much as he did then. If anything, he probably really misses you too." Cierra states.

Bethany nods, some bravery in her eyes. With a final choice, she pressed the button. They close their eyes as they feel a cold yet really hot breeze go by them. They feel a sense of weightlessness until suddenly they are on the hard ground, a warm breeze around them. They slowly start to open their eyes, not sure what to expect.

"It worked." Cierra grinned but it slipped once she realized the surrounding area.

All around them was the place they knew but torn to shreds. Burning cars and broken down buildings surround them. The sky was a burnt orange while the sun was almost dim in the sky. Dark and menacing clouds were around the place, adding an eerie feeling to the empty street. Cierra turns to Isaac, gaping in horror.

"He really wasn't kidding. This place looks horrible." Isaac breaths.

Bethany looks around until she catches a small doll leaning against a building. It had one eye missing and its clothes looked a little charred. Its dead eyes and brokenness stared into her soul, making her uncomfortable. She started to go from one foot to another, as her siblings meanwhile were still looking around the place.

"Come on guys, I don't feel safe here. I think we should try to find somebody we know." Bethany said, just trying to get away from the sad yet very creepy doll.

Isaac and Cierra agree with her, walking with her away from the doll. Bethany looks around her surroundings, wondering how this all happened. She knew Toast mentioned a girl but that's all he really said.

"So we heading to the Acachallas because their house is in the general direction we are heading," Isaac asked, looking around the place.

Bethany nods, making sure not to step on any glass that was shattered all over the ground. Cierra meanwhile looks at all the houses squinting when she thinks she sees somebody in one of them.

"Hey, guys I think I just saw somebody in there." Cierra points out, making the other two siblings stop in their tracks.

Isaac raises a brow at her and walks to the house a little, peeking into a broken window.

"Who did you see?" Bethany asks Cierra as Isaac investigates.

Cierra shrugs, watching carefully at Isaac.

"I really don't know. I just saw a shadow move in there." Cierra states.

Bethany's face scrunches up a little in confusion as she looks at nothing in particular. Although a cut off scream from Isaac made them both look up in worry. Isaac was being held down by what looked like to be a naked mole rat mixed with a dog and hamster. The thing that most stood out from it though was it's rugged and long nails. They had dried blood and dirt all over them. The thing had one of its claws ready to strike Isaac when Bethany throws a rock at it. It falls over, letting Isaac have enough time to run free.

"That is definitely not a human Cierra," Isaac states, looking at the creature before him.

"Yeah well, I know that now," Cierra exclaims, watching as the thing tried to get up.

Bethany grabs both of their arms, pulling them to run. All three of them take off running, the hurt creature not even bothering to chase them. They weren't taking any chances of finding more though, so they kept running all the way to the Acachalla house. Or at least where they remember it being last, hoping the Acachallas were there. Once they reached a wall made of sandbags and concrete that seemed to surround the house, they stopped. They all turned and nodded at each other, all out of breath.

"We have to climb over that wall don't we?" Isaac asked, looking at the wall that had no easy entrance.

Cierra nodded with a small cough. Bethany was the first to walk over to the wall. She reached up to one of the sandbags and used it to steady herself. With some difficulty and determination, she was able to get to the top. Once she was there it was easy, she just helped Isaac and Cierra up the wall. After working together to make it over the wall, they all turned to the house before them. It seemed to be in the best shape out of all the houses they had seen. There seemed to be a greater chance of actually finding a person alive in there.

"If there are just another one of those weird creatures in there, make sure you run. No matter how much your lungs burn or your legs are tired. Just run as fast as you can." Cierra told the two as they nodded in agreement.

The three started to make their way to the house, that is until a window opened. Cierra eyed the window, seeing a gun sitting there.

"Guys don't move. They have a gun in the window." She pointed out, making them stop.

For a few moments, they just stood there before turning to each other.

"They must know it is us right? I mean, why would they shoot us anyway?" Isaac asked the two.

Bethany took a breath and started to walk farther, making Isaac and Cierra whip their heads to look at her.

"Beth! What are you doing?" Cierra said, genuinely worried.

Though Bethany didn't stop. She instead kept going all the way until she reached the front door. She turned to the other two, a victorious smile on her face.

"There isn't actually anybody holding the gun. I think it is just made to scare people away." Bethany smiled at them.

Cierra and Isaac turned to each other before walking over too. Sure enough, the gun never shot. It didn't even move to aim at them again. Now over that heart attack, Isaac knocked on the front door.

"Wha- is that you Toast? I know you got worried but you don't need to-" Gertrude stopped mid sentence upon seeing the three.

"Hey, Gertrude. We came to help." Cierra smiled.
