(Fatima's POV)
I never thought my life would come to this. I never imagined this would be my destiny. No, I believed that I would grow, get older, maybe marry my second cousin Rollo or maybe his brother, move to his farm and become Lady of Western Vestmar, pop out a few kids and pass on to them my name and whatever my husband and I had. Never this...never could I have predicted this.
Queen.
I wasn't made to be a queen. Queen Fatima. It tasted foreign on my tongue. Even now, I could hear my father's voice as he pleaded with me to accept the all mighty King. 'The Kingslayer'. He had adopted that name after murdering the previous king at the young age of sixteen or so Kilana, my handmaid told me. According to her, he was as handsome as any legendary God,, not that she had ever met him or anything. The statement almost made me laugh.
A man who believed himself God. A murderer who believed himself invincible, who believed he could not be killed. Anyone can be killed, all five of my brothers were a testament to that. They were all stupid with their lives. They were all kind and caring men, but they were brave and reckless and didn't take care before running off to battle. Was this King brave? Was my future husband stupid and reckless? No, he couldn't be. He was a murderer...but most men were. They were blood thirsty killers with one thing on their agenda.
Power.
"Relax Lady Fatima. They will be here any moment." Kilana said, standing up straight next to my brother Bijorn. She was very excited unlike me. She had made sure to take out her best dress to welcome royalty into our humble home.
'Fatima, please, you don't understand. We need this, you know we need this. He is our only hope and his wife is incredibly ill. She won't make it past this year, maybe even sooner. After she is gone...you will have it all. You will be Queen of all nine kingdoms. Imagine that my dear girl. Can you? My daughter...an Oris girl, Queen of Toten!' His smile had been so genuine. The excitement in his voice was so evident that I almost smiled for him. But he was selling me off to the highest bidder. It just so happened to be The King who wanted a young girl to stick his cock in.
(Nikolai's POV)
"For the love of Odin, will you stop mopping! You're the god damn King, behave like it!" My father growled, looking straight ahead at the dirt road before us. Our horses trailed along, their hoofs tapping the ground with a soft click.
"Father, she is a child...what do you want me to do, throw a feast and drink myself into next week?" I responded, lowering my voice to make sure Julena could not hear me. She knew of this forsaken engagement and had agreed with no convincing at all, but even now, I couldn't bring myself to look her in the eyes. Her days were numbered, I knew that, my father knew it, the people knew it, all nine kingdoms knew it. As did this girl...this child.
"If that is what it will take for you to stop sulking as if some whore had squeezed your dick too hard. She is a young girl and from what I hear, very beautiful. She will produce many children, something that Julena could never do." His voice was bitter, using her name as if it were a dirty word. Although my father had always been a very caring person, his distaste towards Julena had never been justified.
"Father!" I hissed, lowering my voice. My wife was in the carriage behind us and although she was probably sleeping, I didn't want to take a chance and perhaps have her awake and listen to what my father really thought of her.
"What Nikolai? What? She has been a burden to this family from the moment she stepped into our lives! Never could she produce a child, nor could she fulfill her duties as Queen. King is a title you got not because it was rightfully yours, but because you took it. You ripped it from the last and made a name for yourself...for this family. You want it to remain in this family, you need an heir, that is something that woman could never do for you."
I remained silent. He was right, I knew it. But Julena was a good woman, with a good and kind heart. She didn't deserve this.
"This girl...Fatima. She is not of a noble name, but she is young. healthy, and attractive. She is someone that will for sure give you a child...what am I saying?" he scoffed. "She will give you many children, so many that you will forget their names. You will have someone to take up the throne once you are gone. If you want what is best for your kingdom, you my son will marry this girl."
As I looked up from the dirt road, we passed the gates of Vestmar. In front of us, stood a large group of villagers welcoming us into their home. At the very front and center stood a man about the age of my father, on either side of him stood three boys. To the right stood a small girl, hair long and dark, her eyes a striking shade of green. Similar to the shade of green I found in the northern part of my garden in my castle. Her skin was a milky white shade, with a slim waist, and perfect pink plump lips to match. She was very beautiful, but her inexperience and youth, reflected in her wild gaze. Her eyes never left mine as Meliorn, my horse trotted about trying to get accustomed to the close proximity of everyone around us.
She did not smile, nor did she make a move towards me. It was clear to me, that my future Queen was liking this engagement as much as I.

Fatima on the side>>>
First chapter for new story! I have been in love with Vikings, Sparticus, and Game of Thrones lately and could help but have a go at my own version!
I hope you all like it! I know its not like my normal stuff, but I couldn't get this idea out of my head for the past month or so, so I wanted to just write it down and see where it goes.
Anyways,
Please Vote, comment, share, and follow!
I love you all
