When I woke up I did remember everything that happened I mean who could forget it. I also didn't hear the beep beep of a heart monitor as I am not dead just bruised. Okay bruised a lot but still not dead.
Before opening my eyes I heard dad speaking to who I think was that sexy ass doctor that fixed me up last time.
"How long do you think she will be unconscious?" "It's hard to tell. She doesn't have any internal injuries other than the fact that she didn't have any food for about a week. The outside injuries will take a few weeks. Whatever has got her unconscious is mainly mentally. She needs time to rest. I cannot tell you when she will wake up, that is for her body and mind to decide."
"I can't lose her too, I just can't" I could hear the agony in my father's voice. The sadness. "Bill, you are not going to lose her. She just needs time to rest and recover. She has gone through a great amount of trauma; any normal person out there would have been in a worse state than she is right now. She is a very strong woman. She will be fine."
"Thank you". I could hear the doctor leave and close the door.
"I thought that he would never leave" I said opening my eyes. I looked at my dad and his eyes were like saucers. He gasped and practically ran to my side taking my hand.
"I thought that you were dead. I tried to find you sooner...." My dad tried to explain and apologise but I cut him short "dad, I'm okay."
"I will never forgive myself for letting this happen to you" he was blaming himself for what happened. But all of this was my own fault. I was stupid enough to let my feelings at the time get in the way of being more aware of what was going on around me.
"Dad this is not your fault. I was so consumed in my feelings for Dmitri and getting him back that I should have noticed someone outside. I was trained better than that and I let my guard down. If anyone is to blame it's me. "
"I'm just glad you're okay. I don't know what I would have done if ....." I can't even hear those words come out of his mouth. "You are not going to lose me. I am burying your ass not the other way around deal?"
He smiled at me and kissed my hand that he held. "Deal". I never asked how Dmitri was doing. He was hurt worse than I was.
"How is Dmitri doing? Is he......" I couldn't finish that sentence. Just thinking about him dead made a big dark whole in my chest.
"He is alive and kicking. Literally." I frowned at my father. Kicking? What does he mean by that?
"Where is he?" I asked him. "He is at the hospital wing back at Alex's house. He has three broken ribs and he was beaten pretty badly. But when he woke up he wanted to get out of bed and kept saying he wants to come see you. Of course Alex wouldn't have any of that and put his foot down. He was assured that you are fine and resting. He even beat up the doctor for not letting him leave." My dad chuckled.
He was worried about me. But then I started to think what happened after I was taken. How the hell was he taken?
"Dad? What happened after I was taken? Why was he taken as well?"
"Because he's an idiot. After I saw them drag you away we immediately went after them. We drove around basically all night looking for you or something that could lead us to you. When we couldn't find anything we went home and started putting heads together. When we didn't move at the pace he wanted us to he secretly started looking for you on his own. The next thing we know he was taken as well. We then found the leads that he had and configured a plan to come and get you. It was only when we got you two out of there that we knew who had taken you. Alex didn't hesitate to kill both of them and emptied his gun on both of them. Some of his men pleaded for their lives but at that point after seeing what they have done to the both of you no one cared. All of them were killed."
