The shatter of some sort of glass echoed, covered by the sound of more yelling. A small girl cowered behind the couch, scared to move, scared what was going to happen. The sound of skin connecting with skin silenced everything in the room, the small girl covering her mouth to not give away her spot. After a few moments the front door slammed loudly and there was a squeal of tires outside. The girl peaked out watching the grown man clench his fist and hit the wall, leaving a hole in its place. Once he did so, she hid again, knowing what would happen if she were to get into his hands. She winced slightly at the thought, and covered her mouth once more. After a good twenty minutes the lights in the house went off, and all noises silenced, the only thing she could hear was the fan in her parents room. She crawled out of her hiding space and went to her 'room' which was nothing but a pile of blankets on the floor.
The sun shined brightly on the girl's face, but that wasn't what woke her up. The loud knocking on the door was. She managed to get up, despite being tired still and opened it, though she knew she'd probably get punished for it later. Two men in police uniforms stood there with a sweet looking woman behind them. The woman gave her a smile, crouching down to meet the girl's level, causing the girl to step back some out of caution. The girl jumped hearing noise from behind her, and turned, seeing the man who was supposed to be her father. He was glaring at the officers and the woman.
"Who th' hell 're you?" He questioned, slurring his words, showing he must've been drinking more already. The woman stepped a bit closer to the girl.
"Child Protective Services." She said, her voice loud, and showing she didn't fear the drunken man. She had done this before, clearly, and was used to the noise most parents made when their child was taken. The man growled, muttering something among the lines of 'You're not taking my child' but turned out more like 'You're no takin' mah shild.'
The woman instructed the girl to go sit in the car and to not go anywhere else. The girl did as she was told and after a lot of noise inside the woman came back. She had the girl's blankets. after getting into the front, she turned to the small girl in the back seat.
"Do you have anything you want from here?" She asked and the girl shook her head, curious as to where the woman was taking her. As they left the house, the girl smiled slightly, glad to be leaving the house while her dad was like that. 'This woman must be a close person to mommy and daddy.'The girl thought.
The small girl had fallen asleep on the car ride, and woke up to the woman gently shaking her awake, smiling sweetly. They were at a business building. The woman took the girls hand leading her inside.

"Max. C'mon. We're going to go meet your new foster family." An older woman yelled. She had graying hair and bags under her eyes. She had stress lines and was clearly to tired to function. A porcelain skinned, black haired girl came out, with a few items in her arms and an empty bag looped around her arm. She gave the woman a small smile and made her way to the backseat as she always did. Max neatly put the items in her bag, in a sense it was her survival bag, just in case.
The car drive was quiet and the roads were clear of anything. The car slowed to a four way stop and waited for a truck to go. The driver, a young man, looking a bit older than the sixteen year old in the back seat, waved for them to go ahead. The car began moving forward, Max watching as the began moving. The driver smiled and the truck gunned forward, just as the front part of the car moved in-front of it. A loud series of crunching, shattering and screams filled Max's ears as she braced herself for the impact, her seat belt catching her from being slung to the left side of the car. The car turned as the truck continued, the truck stopped after the bed was near the front once more. The seat belt seemed to be cutting into Max's skin causing great pain in her chest. The driver got out, checking out the car where he had hit. The front driver door was stuck closed and the driver of the car wasn't moving. Or breathing for that matter.
After his inspection, he made eye contact with the girl in the back seat, grinned again and began hooking the car up to the truck with chains and whatnot. Max, panic setting in, attempted to get the seat belt off and tried to figure out how to get out. The seat belt wasn't budging, meaning she wasn't either. She covered her ears, trying to not have a panic attack, though it was failing badly. She closed her eyes and at some point blacked out.
A small blanket covered the girl when she woke, she sat up looking around terrified. As blood began circulating properly, she got dizzy, still being cautious. After a moment a young man walked in, one different from the one in the truck. He offered her a plate of food, smiling, sitting on the chair by the couch she was previously laying on. Confused, scared, and hungry, she hesitantly took some of the bread that was on the plate. Max watched the guy, eating the bread.
"I'm Aidan." He spoke softly, offering a hand to her. After a second from putting down the bread, she shook his hand.
"Max..." She spoke quietly, looking around. He urged her to eat some more, and she did. Once the plate was empty, he stood.
"Follow me, please?" He asked sweetly, and Max complied. He led her to a room seemingly in the middle of the house. There were no windows, and it was dark even with the light. There was a bed in the room and that was it. She was hesitant to follow him into the room. He turned and grabbed the girl by her arms forcing her inside the room. He threw her towards the bed and walked out, closing the door, a loud click following. The girl, half on the bed, half on the floor, sat fully on the floor, bringing her knees to her chest. She couldn't tell if the guy was just bipolar or something else. And that terrified her.
