There was nothing the girl could really do, and she knew that. She climbed onto the bed watching the door. She regretted everything. From eating the food to now feeling the pain of where he had grabbed her arms and where she had landed, half on the bed.

Upon examining the room more, she noticed pretty much any details, like the different lays of paint on certain places, or the scratch marks on the wooden floor, by the door. The bed had a metal frame and made her think of a daybed. The mattress was seemingly new, sheets and a pillow included. Max curled up on the bed, she'd check under the bed later. At the moment this was the only 'safety' she felt she had.

Still awake, she listened, not hearing much going on. Every so often she'd hear talking or footsteps. Finally there was a click of the door and it swung open. Aiden stood there in-front of a woman, but there was an older man in-front of him slightly. Max flinched, forcing herself to sit up. The woman pushed her way through the two men, and kneeled down on the side of the bed giving Max a smile.

"Max, correct?" She asked, knowing the glare was from the older man. She shot him a look before looking back at Max. Max nodded slightly. "Hi sweetheart. You know you can't leave here, right?" She questioned her sweet smile going to a very sadistic one. Max's eyes widened, and any safety she had felt on that bed disappeared completely. The woman laughed, and Max flinched. The woman stood and turned to leave, dragging the older man with her. This left the blonde boy in the doorway. he entered the room completely, closing the door behind him. He approached, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"I-I'm sorry, okay. But...just do as your told and you'll be okay. " He said, sounding pissed. He looked up, not liking the fear he saw in her eyes. "I said I'm sorry! Don't fear me!" He yelled, Max flinching from the noise and anger. A few tears escaped her eyes and she covered her mouth to mute any noises that might escape. Aiden continued to watch her, before forcing her into a hug. She tensed up until she realized he wasn't going to let go. "I'm sorry, okay. You're lucky you're even alive. You should've ended up like that old woman in the car..." He muttered.

Max nearly choked on nothing. Marcey, the woman who'd been in her life since she was taken into foster-care was gone. The woman who had pretty much raised her.

Aiden pulled from the one-sided hug and gave her a faulty smile and looked around the room.

"If you're good, I bet we could let you around the house, w-with supervision, of course." He said frowning as his eyes laid onto the paint layers. "Or at least fix-up this room." He said seeming to be calm now.

"Aiden...? Right?" Max questioned quietly, seeing he seemed the most sane out of all she'd met. This caught his attention and he looked at her with a smile, letting out a questioning hum in response. "Uh...W-why?" She asked trying to not cry. Aiden looked away quiet for a moment.

"You're pretty, and the only one I'd have to talk to. " He said starring at the floor for a moment, before looking back at her. "I've been here my whole life. Never left." He said with hints of sadness in his voice. She felt happy he responded.

"And those are you...parents?" She asked. He nodded, simply.

"And that woman was your mamma?" He asked, causing Max to shake her head.

"I don't actually have a family. I was put into foster care when I was little. " This caused Aiden to frown and look a bit pissed.

"What? Why!" He demanded, wanting an answer, as he had almost been put in foster care himself.

"My dad hit me and my mom. " She muttered trying to be as honest as possible so there was no lies to catch up to her. Aiden hugged her once more.

"We'll never hit you. " He said, causing her to question if he meant his family or something else. Aiden didn't seem to notice. He seemed clingy. "Mamma is making dinner. Do you wanna go eat?" He asked pulling away holding her shoulders, looking at her. Max raised an eyebrow questioning if she'd actually be able to leave the room so  soon. She nodded slightly, and he smiled, getting up and pulling her up. He grabbed her hand leading her to a small table set with plates, cups, and silverware.

Sitting at the table was the young man that wrecked the car. He glanced up and grinned.

"Hey 'lil bro, is that your new toy or something?" He questioned, giving Max a sicking feeling. Aiden ignored him and forced Max to sit across from him at the table, Aiden sitting beside her, across the empty space. After a bit of awkward silence a woman with a baby bump walked in, holding a tray. She put the tray down, revealing it was biscuits, she then sat down by the other man. She glanced up noticing the new face, and Max could nearly instantly see the sadness in her eyes.

"Third times the charm, Lace. " The other muttered grinning.

"Shut up, Mark. " Aiden said with a growl, clearly becoming pissed.

"Hey, girly. Watch out. He has a temper. You just might end up like the others. Y'know de-"Mark was cut off by a quick slap to the head by the older man from before.

"Mark, enough."He said before sitting down. Aiden rested his head against Max's shoulder pointing to 'Lace'.

"Lacey, " He moved pointing at everyone as he identified who they were.  "Mark, Charles, and mamma. " He said as 'Mamma' walked in. She put down some things of food and sat at the table. Mark was noticeably staring, and it got to the point where Aiden banged his fist on the table. Mark grinned, knowing he was egging his brother on. "Stop it, dammit. " He yelled, before getting up and storming off.

Max was guided back to the room by Mark and Lace, feeling uncomfortable as he led her with a hand on her shoulder. She entered the room, knowing there was nothing she could do, and listened as the lock clicked.
