Max had eventually fallen asleep, cuddled up in the sheets as it felt like it was -30 degrees. Being on edge, she quickly awoke when the lock clicked. Aidan stood there not sure if she was awake or not and gently put the blanket he held in his hands on her. She flinched, letting him know she was awake. He kept quiet and moved the bed from the wall slightly, plugging something into a hidden outlet. The blanket began radiating heat, and Max happily cuddled closer to it.

"I-is that better?" Aidan asked quietly, moving where he could see her face, sitting on the wood floor. Max could tell that he was now beginning to feel cold. "Mamma and Pop said that you could use my blanket. " He said looking down to avoid any eye contact.

"Aidan... What did he mean...? What happened to the others...?" She questioned a bit fearfully. He looked up knowing she was referring to last night, diner.

"I...

A once sweet looking girl coward in the corner, the blonde boy beyond pissed as he had been attacked.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Please... I-i'm sorry." The girl cried but Aidan couldn't hear nor see any of this. His vision was full of red fury and he could only hear his blood boiling in is ears. He had been punished because of this girl multiple times. Escape attempts, attacking others, and her 'tantrums', this was his last straw. He blacked out. He'd done this before and seriously hurt others and hated blacking out. It always led to chaos.

By the time he had regained control of himself, it was to late for the poor girl. It was her last moments and the blonde boy couldn't handle it. He rushed to the bathroom throwing up, hearing his older brother laughing, along with the sound of skin connecting, most likely his father slapping the back of his brother's head. By the time Aidan was able to leave the bathroom the room door was open, and the girl was gone. His mother was scrubbing the blood. Aidan watched for a moment, apologizing to only be shushed by his mom.

"She wasn't the one then. The girl for you will be able to handle you. " She told him as she had told him as a child. Aidan simply nodded, before scurrying off to hide his tears.

The second girl was different. She simply screamed and cried constantly. She yelled for help until her voice was nothing more than a croak. She scratched at the floor trying to claw her way out, to the point her hands were bleeding. She would hide under the bed when anyone entered the room, refused to eat or drink, and defied anything they told her to do.

Her death wasn't necessarily Aidan's fault. She became dehydrated and passed one night.

Aidan finished explaining, a few tears managing to escape, to which he quickly wiped them away. Max, wide eyed, stared at him.

"I...I."

"Shut up..." He muttered. He didn't want to hear her comments. Max closed her mouth starring down. "Max... wanna know something funny? Mamma can't have babies. Ne'er could." Max looked up at Aidan at this.

"Wait... so then..." She muttered putting the pieces together. Aidan nodded, allowing himself to move towards the bed and hold her shoulders, just a bit to tight. Max looked a bit in disbelief. "How do you know that?" She questioned. He smiled slightly.

"That's for another time. " he muttered "You should sleep." He said and stood. He didn't seem as upset as earlier. "Goodnight...Max"

"G-goodnight."
