Skye's Point Of View:
When the door opened and someone entered before shutting the door again, I did not need to peek up from burying my head in my hands to know who it was. I was certain Sebastian Knight would not come roaming into my room so comfortably. Even if he wanted to, I doubt he would get past Oliver. I expected Oliver to yell at me but he did not. Instead, he bent down before me to my level since I was sitting on the bed and pulled my hands out of my face, forcing me to face him.
"Explain to me." He said simply, his expression calm. There was no anger in his blue eyes. The fact he was behaving this way made me felt guiltier. He waited patiently for me to speak and when I did, he did not interrupt till I was finish.
"So, that's how I end up getting engaged and possibly married in the near future." I concluded in a weak voice.
He was silent at first and appeared thoughtful. Was he mad? Was he sad? Come on, Oliver say or do something! He shook his head and sighed before he began. Now when he spoke, I chose not to make a sound too.
"I am upset about this but because you did not come to me for help. Engaged ? Being forced to live with a guy? You're still a virgin for fuck's sake," I winced at that, "and I know that man out there. He is country supstar and you're going to be in the same house with him? How are you going to deal with the paparazzi? The fame of being a celebrity musician's wife? There are so many complications to think of for yourself and yet you choose to be selfless for your family?" He squeezed my hand. "I don't get you ."
"I don't know what else to do Ollie." I admitted, looking down. "I'm afraid of ruining my family's lives. Especially Alan."
"Skye.." Oliver placed a finger on my chin and tilted it up so that our eyes met. "I don't think I can let you go through with this." I knew he would say something like this. Protective Oliver who was like my older brother.
"I know you're worried Ollie but I have to." I told him softly. I had no choice for now.
Oliver's expression changed to a pained one before he stood up. "I think you need go out there and speak to him. I am sure he came here for a reason." Right, Brantleywas still out there.
"But please put on some pants, I don't really appreciate you dressed like that in front of him. Future fiancée or not he is still a stranger now." He gestured towards my bare legs. I blushed but nodded. I got up and moved to my drawers, pulled out a pair of sweatpants and headed into the bathroom to change.
When I came out, Oliver was sitting down on my bed. "Go out and talk to him. I will wait here." He assured me. I got his meaning. He wanted Brantley Gilbert out of the way first.
"Thanks Ollie." I responded before exiting the room.
Brantley's Point Of View:
Bambi chose to stand by the door, a position that placed a considerable amount of distance between us. Why was she fucking skittish around me? Like a deer trapped with a lion. Was I a lion to her?
"Do you want to sit?" I gestured to the space on the couch beside me. It felt ridiculous I had to offer her a seat in her own apartment. She shook her head, her large doe eyes averting mine.
"I am comfortable here." She said softly. I sighed, but allowed it. As long she listened to what I had to say.
I sat upright and kept my eyes on her, even if she refused to look at me. "I am guessing you have things to handle right now," I glanced towards the closed room door. I bet Bambi had plenty to explain to her best friend and I was not going to get in the way. "So I am just going to cut straight to the point."
